    Default I am soooo confused!

I was sleeved May 9, 2012. Everything was great in May then June hits and everything went down hill. I know nausea and vomiting is expected. I have been throwing up since the first week in June. Saw my dr and had an EGD with dilatation because of a constricture. I was ok for a week then same thing all over again. Had another EGD with dilatation. Same problem same spot. Didn't get better. Spent 5 days in the hospital to try to figure out what was going on no answers. Was sent home with a PICC line so I can give myself 12 hour infusions of TPN every night since whatever I put in my mouth comes right back up. Saw dr again and was told he could put a stent in but it is not FDA approved for that purpose. Also it gets embedded in your intestines which requires another surgery to remove and will leave scar tissue and may create another constricture. Sought out second opinion and that dr said only way to correct the problem is to convert my sleeve to a gastric bypass! I am so scared. Don't know what to do. I can not eat or drink anything because of the constricture. All my nutrients are coming out of a bag going through my veins at bedtime. I cannot live like this. Somebody please HELP!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry your going through this. I would lean toward the bypass. Ask your first Dr what he thinks of that. People have the bypass all the time and do fine with it. Good luck and keep us posted.

It doesn't sound like the stricture is going to go away....I agree that the bypass is probably your best bet....I would be scared about that too....but you know, I have a friend that had bypass and she's the happiest person in the world! It's worth it to not be sick all the time! Things could be way worse even though it doesn't feel like it right now....chin up!!!

I'm with the others here, I'd go for the bypass. It seems like the best and safest long-term option you have at this point. Sorry you're going through all this and sending prayers your way. Wish I could make it better for you. We're all here to listen when you need to vent.
