Default Its starting to get real..

Tomorrow I am scheduled for my EGD and next Thursday I will have my psych eval (3-4 hours!!). I am pretty nervous about my EGD. For some reason this is freaking me out a little more than the actual surgery. Would love to hear how it went for some other people. When I talked to my coordinator last week she said the way everything is looking we will probably schedule for end of August or September!! So ready for this!

my psych eval. lasted about 15 minutes! "do you ever have suicidal thoughts"...no "why do you want to have this surgery" ..tired of being fat all my life and want to lose weight for good. "do you ever get depressed or lose sleep for worrying" ...no, "OK you're good to go" good luck!

I was freaked about EGD as well it was NO big deal. You get there, they have you put on a gown (I was able to leave pants on) then they ask medical background stuff, have you take a pregro test then they put an in IV. Then you wait your turn. The roll you into the room confirm your procedure have you lay on your left side then they inject the "Juice" I saw him reach for the IV line and lights out at the same time they have you bit down on a tooth/mouth guard. Then they do what they do (I was totally out) roll you into reovery wake up 15 min later and the doc comes in and shows/gives you pictures of procedure tells you if he found anything. Drink some apple juice, get dressed and they roll you out to your ride. They do not allow you to drive. I had to drive there and hubby came during, I got into his car but I felt fine live less then 2 miles from hospital so we drove around and I drove home. I was fine and way alert. A little sore throat and then went to get something to eat. I probably should not have driven then cause I was loopy all of a sudden, came home ate then took a 4hr nap. It was EASY, I stressed way to much about it. (now wish I could get details on surgery cause I am feaking out about that...Lol)

ON the psych eval, I called my insurance company to verify my policy did not require it (even with doc saying I needed it they are just used to generic policies) so I elected not to have one. My policy did not require a NUT either but hospital does and really thought the meeting was a waste of time however the packet they give I do look at it all the time on foods I should and should not eat. BUT on my last pre-op appointment with Doc they gave me almost the same stuff...I gave her a hard time about paying the 125 for NUT insurance wouldnot cover that.

Had the EGD today and it went pretty well. The sedation has caused me to have a major headache all day though. Dr. did see some inflammation so he did a biopsy. May be H. Pylori our just acid.. Will find out at the end of next week.
