    Default Bad Breath??

Has anyone else been experiencing severe bad breath? I am three weeks post op and my family is constantly telling me that my breath smells really bad. So now, I am always armed with Listerine Breath Strips, gum, Altoids and other mints.

Please tell me that I'm not the only one because if so, I need to visit my doctor!

You're probably in ketosis. I had that also & it went away.

You are probably in ketosis due to low carb intake...all it means is your body is buring pure FAT. It really helps with weight loss, later when you add more carbs it will go away.

This is the one time in your life bad breath is good As stated above, you are in ketosis. If you want a more visual look at that phenomenon, get some ketosticks and pee on them once a day. When you see purple you are burning fat! Ketosis can be somewhat dangerous for diabetics but for most other folks it's ok to be in mild/moderate ketosis for a long time.

Right on track. I even smelled an odour from my own body that I could not track down, it felt like I was walking beside a stinky old man. Not pleasant. No one else smelled it???????. All gone now, smelling like a rose.

Ketosis can be your best friend. I can always tell when my daughter is doing a low carb diet. Her breath has a mediciny smell every time.

Pretty much as long as you are in moderate ketosis - so until you start eating more "real" food or more carbs. Even 30 carbs a day usually knocks you out of it or at least down to a minimal amount. Since it's fat burnoff, it's inconvenient but it's also a good thing.
If you are a tea drinker, I found drinking peppermint tea at bedtime helped a lot.

Bad breath makes us feel unconfortable and has the bad effect on the conversation, however, it is not too difficult to solve.
Halitosis is caused mainly by volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs) such as H(2)S and CH(3)SH produced in the oral cavity.
Some natural remedies can keep it under the control, I believe such as apple, lemon, green tea...
    - Apples: I always eat 1 to 2 apples after any meal to control the smell of my mouth. This is my most favorite method, not only delicious but also take stinky breath away quickly.
    - Lemonade: The citric of lemon can kill the causes of bad bacteria which makes the breath smell bad. Drinking lemonade every day is also effective as consuming apples, it helps you to get into shape as well.
Or you can follow this tip:
    1. Mix a cup of water with lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
    2. Rinse your mouth with that mixture 2 or 3 times daily until the bad breath is gone
    3. Drink fresh lemonade (1 or 2 glasses)
You can also chew a small piece of lemon peel or suck lemon wedge to get rid of onion breath ( but to me, it's way to sour to do that haha)
Lemons can be considered the most frequent used fruit in our daily life. Besides helping you understand how to get rid of onion breath, lemons can cure some other common problems such as dehydration.

    - Green tea: It can easily destroy the sulfur content because it has polyphenols and anti-oxidants that are very powerful. Thus, it will make onion breath disappear right away and improve your health.

Another tip I often use when I don't have enough time for those remedies is chewing gums! So convenient and fast!

There are many more quick methods for bad breath situation, no matter how bad it is, you can read here: https://authorityremedies.com/how-to...-onion-breath/
