Angry Is It Normal To Feel This Way? 10 Days Post Op

I am miserable! This whole process has been hard, I knew this would never be easy.. But really??
I can't express to you all how much I miss & want food, it's just not fair!
Is this really all going to be worth it?
Is this the right new lifestyle for me? Should I have just gotten off my fat ass & tried working out harder???
I can't stop crying because I'm extremely frustrated with everything..
My surgery went great! Don't get me wrong.. I haven't had any complications, but I am still in pain.
It's this freakin left side of mine that's so painful! I just want to be able to sit & lay & sleep however I please again! I want to be able to relax before I go back to work on Thursday!
Was this the right choice is what I keep asking myself?
I'm so so ready to be over with all of these crazy restrictions on food! I'm just a very unhappy person when I can't have what I want..
I also think.. Will I actually be able to reach my goal?! I started off freaking huge, I mean 377 is a lot! Is 180 realistic? Is a size 12 ever going to happen for me?? Or will I just struggle the whole time??
Idk guys, I'm just all over the place right now.. Thank y'all though so much for all the help I've gotten so far from all of you <3

Hang in there darlin'. From what I've been reading it does get easier. It won't do you any good to dwell on what should've, could've, would've. It's done & so make the best of it. Start thinking about being healthier future. Wishing you the best.

aawwww.... take deep breath and just try to take baby steps... this process is not easy before or after... I have yet to be sleeved so I can not say I know how it feels or comfort you in that area. However, reading you post puts me on a reality check and what you stated is my greatest fear. That I will too wake up and just regret the suregery for the rest of my life. I guess in this point of time for you... you are just in the starting stages of your journey and what I can say and what I have seen in the forum is that loosing the amount of weight and be size 12 is very possible... you now have the tool to achieve any weight loss goal and you will be able to obtain that goal and much more..... but with this tool we must also put our part and eat right and excercise. Right now your on little low but with time I hope that you look back and just realize how worth it was..... best wishes and keep your head up... it will get better

Thank y'all both, I'm trying so hard to focus on the positives!
& please don't take that I meant for anyone to not have this surgery, just know that it's hard. Which I know that you know that! Lol
But if you're a strong person anyone can make it through this.. I've heard a lot that the first 30 days are hell... So it must get easier..?
I wish y'all both the best of luck!

You have only been 10 days. I haven't had the surgery, but I talked to a young girl when I went for my first appt. She was going for her 2 week check up. She was so happy. Her son said mom now you can ride bikes with us. She was still very large but they were so happy for her. I don't know your personal info, but you are beautiful. I know we all hear that, but you are and you have a long life ahead if you stick with it. I am in my early 60's I am in constant pain, I can't walk because my ankles swell up so bad. Just think you are doing this when you are young and won't have this to look forward to. Your pain will go away and you will get to have foods back. Maybe not what we used to have, but you will get used to good healthy food. I am giving you a big hug.

It's too late to change it now. All you can do is look to the future. My first 2 weeks sucked emotionally. I couldn't stand watching tv because it seemed every commercial that came on was about food. My mother lives with us and she always cooks dinner and every night I had to smell this great food and watch everyone eat it. Does it suck? Hell yes!! Does it get better? Hell yes!! When the pounds start dropping you will feel so great. The first time you go into a dressing room and try on new clothes and they are smaller (in my case 3 sizes) you will think, food? What food? I hated people replying to me "it gets better" cause I always thought, really? When? But it does, I promise. When you get to where you can add more foods and start eating regular again it is a breeze. People at work feel bad eating "good stuff" (burgers, fries, etc) around me. But I don't care. It doesn't bother me anymore. It will pass and you will feel normal again soon. Just keep on keeping on!

it will get a lot better. when you start to see the numbers and inches fade away you will dance for joy. with me, I dont want to get the food i used to eat because it will be to much and will go to waste. you will save money. I am 30+ days out and i have not been out to eat. You will have to learn your sleeve and re train your self how to eat. It will pay off in the long run. You did this for a healthier you. keep your head up

Give your doctor a call and see if they can give you something to get through this stage. You will feel better. Sometimes we all need a little help to get over the hump.

    You can do this!

I am five days post op and I am having the same issue in that I just want to be able to eat with no restrictions, but in a little bit different way. I am trying to look at this whole thing as a brand new start, I always wanted to be able to eat fresh healty low fat foods and be healthy. Now is my time, I am preparing for when I can eat and I am going to be reading every label and buying things that will make small super flavorfull, fresh and healthy meals. I am going to be that annoying skinny person I see in the whole foods store that buys healthy everything~!!! I can't wait!! I know it wont be easy, but I am using this time to get my body used to no sugar and carbs and I will become that person!! I hope it helps, gives you something to work for and to keep your mind off the kind of foods we ate that got us to this place. God Bless! Hang in there.

Mourning food! That is a very interesting thought. I am a nurse and I talk to my patients so often about mourning the loss of body and function. I never thought about mourning food. I know that I am really struggling. I have now told my closest friend and all my family members and my kids that this is what I will do in January and all of them, to my shock, are being super supportive and encouraging and yet tonight, I feel rotten and ugly and worst of all, fat. I hat that word and I have avoided it just like I have avoided looking in the mirror. But I deliberately put myself in pictures today as I spent time with my Mom and kids and looking at those pictures, I am seeing myself. And I feel sad. And I want to eat. But when I put junk in, I have realized that it isn't making me feel better. Food is a false comfort. What I need is a hug.
