I've used a straw a few times and also chew gum all the time. So far, so good. I'm drinking a Vitamin Zero as we speak
That's true! They differ greatly in opinions sometimes. The straw thing might have to do with how early or far out you are on your surgery. And it could be that some people gulp more with a straw, I am the opposite though it makes it easier for me to sip slower, and i have gotten used to the whole turning everything to liquid in my mouth before swallowing (that took months to master!) So just watch and be mindful of the swallowing thing and as long as you don't have a problem with swallowing air! I find most of the things we learn to live with are all simple common sense, I like to say "It's NOT rocket science"! You seem to have a lot of common sense and are well grounded so i am sure you will do fine and Find a good balance on your journey! Love Rainbow
Thanks, Rainbow! Now, that I've healed from surgery, I can say that this is such a fun journey. I'm just a couple weeks away from stage 4 (Phase 2). I hope I'll get the "All Clear" to eat raw veggies. We have a nice garden and will be picking veggies in about 3 weeks.
I have a question... how did you input your starting weight, current weight, and goal weight on your progress ladder?
ValGal--I am so glad to hear you are doing well! I have been following your story and learned a lot about what you were going through. I am having my sleeve surgery 2 weeks from Monday, on June 4 and can hardly wait. I start my pre-op diet this Monday. I know I am in for a rough week or so, but I know it will be worth it. I have learned so much from this blog that I feel pretty well prepared. BTW, I was wondering about how to add those amounts on the ladder also.
Good luck and look forward to hearing about your progress in the future!
