I started working about 1 week post op with my trainer. Know that I did so with the full knowledge that I may cause a hernia if I push too hard with the abs or weights. I did nothing over 10 pounds and if it pulled, I stopped. Walking and other aerobic exercises are fine, I doubt that your surgeon would mind that at all! Congrats on starting this new chapter!

I started long, brisk walks at 3 weeks...It took me a month or so to get back up to the 6 miles / hour I was doing before surgery. I have been doing 1-1 1/2 hours of cardiovascular 5-6 times per week since about 6 weeks.
Good luck, just take it slow. I as on a bp med that was too strong and was making me dizzy, so if you are on any meds, have your dr see if you still need them, that can cause dizziness, falling and other worse side effects.

I am also on BP medication, have GP and cardiologist followup re same. I started walking after week one, gradually increasing the distance and speed. I started doing swimming after week three, twice week as was on leave from work. Then with the ok from cardiologist and surgeion I started attending the gym - they set me a program including cardiovascular and weight training. I have also returned to karate (was doing this before) currently doing one night per week, though hope to be back up to two nights per week within next few weeks. I also when walking take my dog with me - she loves that.
I am due back at work tomorrow, and will be attending gym/aqua aerobics/karate after work. Plus will need to fit in walks with Freya (dog) or she will let me know she is not happy. I am aiming now for the loss of the next five kgs. Cheers.
