    Question Phase 2 diet

I got moved to phase 2 yesterday. My options were baby food (stage 1), pureed food, or scrambled eggs and instant mashed potatoes. Looks like eggs and mashed potatoes for the next 2 weeks, lol. I have a strict doctor. It's 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks pureed food, and then they switch you to normal food with some limits. I was so excited to eat eggs and mashed potatoes, but I'm sure after a few days of this I'm going to be tired of it. I was told to only eat 1 egg and 1oz of mashed potatoes. Did anyone else get to eat something different on phase 2?

They told me liquids & protein drinks for first 2 weeks then puréed stage like the eggs, retried beans & cream soups for the next 3 months. They told me to stay away from potatoes since there is no protein in them, & that's what we need at this stage. I've noticed every doctor is different so who's to say who is right...

I'm getting toward the end of almost 3 weeks of purees. You have a lot more options than just eggs and potatoes. It is good to focus on proteins, and I do pureed tuna, chicken, beans, cottage cheese, and have tried some pureed beef. You just need to process it til smooth with a blender or food processor along with something to make it moist. I usually use low-fat mayo, mustard, smooth salsa, lowfat/fat free dressing, or other low-sugar/low-fat sauces/gravies, etc. A 5 oz can of tuna or chicken blended up should make 2 servings or more, depending on how much you can handle. Shelly at theworldaccordingtoeggface.com also has some puree recipes to try.

I have a issue with some textures, as crazy as that sounds. So puree meats is not my thing. I was told I could have an egg and some type of veggie or starch. So I can handle smashed beans to. I only have till the 30th on this stage so its not to bad. Just slim pickings for this picky eater :-) Thanks for the replies.
