    Lightbulb vitamins

    Hello,
I just wanted to share with everyone what I take. I start my mornings with a good breakfast. Usually a parfait w/granola and a breakfast Berry granola trail mix. Always eat before you take your vitamins! You can get very woosie if you don't
I then take 2000mcg b12. Then I take my "raw for men" one daily multi vitamin. Then I pop in my vitamin c chewable. Then I chew up my glutamine pill. Last I take my creatine capsules. If. You want exacts pm me. Remember, this is my personal vitamin regiment. Yours could differ!!! The last thing I take at around noon is my sundown sublingual B complex w b12. These all make me feel great and keeps me going everyday! My nutrionist is one of the best in her field Chrisanna Harrington. My doctor, Dr. M. Sheih is a leader in the bariatric community and my family is my support group cheering me on! I'm very lucky!!!

Wow, that's a lot of vitamins. My nutritonist and Dr. only ordered for me to take 2 chewable calcium and 1 chewable centrum silver. All at bedtime. Funny how every Dr. and nutritionist is different isn't it !

Yes it is! I'm on a high viamin/protein lifestyle. I lost 85lbs. I'm a big Guy in shape so we are trying to help my body grow muscles again! I'm starting a vigorous exercise program too!

Geez I feel like Ive been told even more to take... i havent gotten sleeved yet but my dietician actually works at the surgeons office that im getting the surgery done by and the first meeting i had with her she gave me LOTS of info to start off with ... heres what my vitamin thing says...
Calcuim Citrate Plus D ( 1500 mg per day) for at least the first year, starting 1 month after surgery.
I already had to start now taking a multivitamin ( I decided on Flinstones Complete chewables, they said you cant do the gummies or sours bc they lack iron and have added sugar) and you take 1 of those a day, then start taking 2 a day 3 months prior to surgery... or 1 per day if you do a prenatal vitamin.... and take 2 a day until youve reached a year after surgery, then go down to one a day for life.
THEN, lol, within a month after surgery, 500 mcg of vitamin b12 daily or 1000 mcg 3x a week.. and it must be taken sublingually, and you take one of those a day for the rest of your life...
Only other thing they recommended IF you want was Biotin, for hair loss .. but they said only if you choose to.
Just sharing what my doc. is saying! :-D

Somewhere I've posted this before, but here I go again. My nutritionist also works at my surgeon's office, and here is what she recommends and I take daily:
2 adult chewable multi-vitamins plus iron
    1 sublingual B12, 2500mg
1 biotin and 1 silica after lunch and another of each after dinner (to avoid hair loss...I'm more than three months post op, my photo was taken yesterday, and I have thick, healthy hair. My hairdresser suspects NOTHING yet!)
1000 IU of vitamin D at bedtime
1500 mg of calcium carbonate (chewable fruit-flavored Tums) at bedtime (my dietitian said that gastric bypass patients have to take calcium citrate, but sleeve patients can take calcium carbonate...saves us money because we can use regular ole Tums)

And I also take a glucosamine chondroitin supplement; Elations makes a flavored powder that mixes with water...it's a good supplement for us folks with "older" bones.
    Diane

    Good Morning Leo...
Great to see another patient of Dr. S. We are very
lucky to have him in our community.
I have had conflicts with scheduling so have not attended
the general support meetings in a while. Maybe our paths
    will cross.
