Default What foods are a no-go for veterans

Hi well my darling fiancee is 6 days post-op and while she reads here won't join or post. I stayed here after my sleeve switched to rny just before my surgery date. So as time passes we will have our own side by side comparison of sleeve vs rny.
She had a question and asked my to post it. So all you year or more out sleevers. What foods can you still not tolerate well or at all?

I am 6 months out and can tolerate most anything. I do have a problem with dense meat. It needs to be in a sauce or gravy but other than that not much. I eat starches but in very tiny quantities. I get full really quickly.

This is going to sound really bad for a new sleevee, but I look forward to the day I can eat a hamburger (small of course) again, lol.

I'm 5 months out and still can't do ground meat. I've tried hamburger and ground sausage and neither set well. I've had nearly no carbs since surgery and have found as I've tried bites here and there over the past couple of weeks that they sit in my sleeve like a rock. I'm happy just sticking with my proteins.

I'm nearly a year out and dense proteins are still harder for me to get down... I do miss steak sometimes. No matter how much I chew my sleeve fills up really fast (like 2 bites) with the dense proteins and it feels like a rock sitting in there so I just don't have it.

I am a little over two months out. I don't really have problem with most food. I may still be lactose intolernce. I can't eat food that is too spicy (used to love spicy food). I tried a bite of steak and a bite of pizza. My brain tells me my stomach may not be able to handle it well so I didn't eat more.

I don't have problem with anything else as long as I chew it well. I have tried bread, scallop, shrimp, fries, calamari, chicken, pork, ground beef, brisket, lamb, fish, all types of vegs, nuts.

When I went for my 2 week follow up appointment my Dr said I can eat anything I want. He said some things I will tolerate better than others but with time I should be able to eat everything I eat before, I still have the same stomach it's just smaller. I just get so full so fast that I'm having trouble getting all my fluids, only getting about 40 oz and not getting enough protein either but I try very hard and in time I think I will.

I was losing more weight and faster before surgery, I only lost 4 pounds this past week but think it's because I am not eating enough.

I am almost 8 months out and still have a problem with beef. I can eat pork of any kind, seafood and chicken. Rice and pasta I can eat but only 1 or 2 bites because it is very heavy and doesnt sit well. I can eat salad as long as it is any lettuce other than iceburg. No iceburg for me...It hurts!

My brother was 3 years out in January and eats ANYTHING! I dream of the day I get there......
