    Default uh Period Problems!?

OKay, I just started my period.. and thats a problem because I am on birth control and just had it 2 weeks ago., I am in the middle of my pills like a week and a few days in..
I had my period wed-sun (25th-28th) before my surgery, then I started my pills like I was supposed to sunday, the next day, (monday the 30th) I had surgery, I didn't take my pill that day, I took it tuesday early morning, (I take my pills at 5pm normally, and I have missed 1 day, maybe 2 days and never had my period, my period is after 4 missed pills or sugar pills I have it) so why did I just get my period now? Is my body not absorbing my pills? they are really really small.. I don't understand?

I had to be off birth control for a month after mine!(according to my surgeon) But besides the point.. I had my period for 9 days after my surgery had 6 days off of it and then got my period again for another 7. When I called my doctor to ask what was up he said, that it is very common due to the fact that your body is very stressed out after all you just had major surgery. He said sometimes it takes a few months to regulate, as your body is going through alot of changes!! They said the only cause for concern is if you are soaking a super tampon consistently in an hour or less! I hope this helps!!!

    Good luck!

9 days is nothing. I had my surgery on the 12 of Dec and started my period the 14th of Dec and did not go off of it until February 3rd. I am not on birth control but the extreme amount of hormones your losing can cause irregular cycles. I am now back on my period and its only the 7th and I started again on the 6th. I called my doctor (we are military as well but I paid of out pocket and went to mexico cause like always my records got lost so they denied me) and they told me that due to the weight loss, hormone changes and surgery your body is in shock and trying to recover so things will change one way or another rather its for the good or bad. Just remember you can be extra fertile as well so make sure you continue to take your pills.

I'm on Depo Provera and have been spotting since 2 days post op. I have never spotted while on Depo. From everything that I have been told, it's normal for your body to be screwed up right now. It is going through a great deal of changes. I was told to just deal w/it.

Your body has gone through so much change that it doesn't know what to do. Fortunately for me, I have had only one period since my surgery!! Of course I am 45 years old so that helps I am sure!

I had my period 2 days post op and then 2 wks later, had another one. I had a tubal ligation, so bc is not an issue, but I asked my dr and was advised that some people exp a hormonal change.

My surgeon told me not to take my birth control pills until 1 month post-op. So I was expecting my period to get out of whack. I have had my period twice since my surgery on January 18th. At my last visit with the dr I mentioned that I kept getting my period. I was told that the blood thinners given during surgery, stress, and hormonal changes all affect your period.
