I agree with GoofySpice AND with Lisa. It totally depends on how addictive your personalities are. I'm a control freak myself, and I'm proud of it! So for me, I am actually able to limit myself to 1 or 2 oz. of wine, or to one little piece of chocolate...provided I have room in my daily calorie/carb limits. That is one of the reasons why I opted for the sleeve rather than the bypass. Bypass patients have issues with dumping syndrome, and there are many in my weight loss support group who totally, 100%, avoid anything with sugar. I choose the sleeve for multiple reasons, but one of those reasons was because I wanted to be able to eat anything I wanted and not give up things forever. And now, three months later, I am living the dream! One bite of potatoes fixes that desire, one french fry, one bite of my husband's cheesecake, one spoonful of ice cream, one piece of chocolate, and one ounce (or two on occasion) of wine. I am satisfied with my tiny portions, and I don't feel deprived at all. Everything in moderation. Sadly, I know there are some fellow sleevers out there and on here that just cannot manage the "moderation" and have to do it a different way. Whatever works for you is good, and I don't want to suggest that my way of doing it is the only way or the right way...it's just the way that is working for me!
