    9 days after surgery...

And my husband has lost 28 pounds!

Granted, I think some of that is just loss of fluid from water retention over the holidays... but still. He's 18 down from his lowest recent pre-surgery...

    Re: Sleep Apnea

I do, and so does my husband, but I haven't had the surgery, and he just had his a week ago.

I still think you would do better cost wise finding somewhere that you could buy the CPAP outright. ...

    Re: Sleep Apnea

I would call the surgeon's office and ask.

My husband's surgeon didn't ask him whether or not he was using his CPAP... I think they wanted to know if he had sleep apnea so they would know...

OMG hubby has been walking already!

Today is one week since surgery, and my husband got so bored on Friday (first full day home from hospital) that he asked me to take him to Wal Mart the very next day so we could have somewhere to...
  9. Re: Did you have a family member who made your surgery their business?

    Thanks everyone :)

No, I'm not afraid of him at all. I just didn't want to agitate him because my goal that day was to minimize his suffering, not do anything to make him feel worse, no matter...

    Re: Gallbaldder removal?

My husband's surgeon always checks his patient's gallbladder to see if it needs to be removed. Oftentimes he will go ahead and remove it if he can get to it easily (everyone's anatomy is a little...

    Re: pre-liquid diet requirement??

Most doctors will require some kind of weight loss plan before bariatric surgery because, as others pointed out, it shrinks the liver to make the operation easier. DH met someone who did not follow...

    Thank you so much!

I may just be emotional right now because of how stressed I was this week, but I'm on the verge of tears right now with relief for how well my husband is doing today and warm fuzzies in my tummy with...
  14. Did you have a family member who made your surgery their business?

I was afraid that my husband was going to get upset with me, because I had something to say during pretty much every discussion he had at the hospital with a doctor, nurse, assistant, nutritionist,...

    Welcome!

My husband just had his done yesterday, so I can't comment on personal experience yet. But I do know that many here have had great success in a relatively short time.
  19. Re: Does Gastric sleeve help with PCOS symptoms? Cosmetic Bliss and / or UK surgeon recommendations?

Generally speaking, anything that helps weight loss helps with fertility problems. As far as other symptoms, I'm not sure.
