    Re: Questions regarding psych consult

    Over the phone??! I WISH!!!
I hated my psych. I had to go TWICE and it was not covered by insurance.
  2. Re: Questions for veteran sleevers from a Doubting Anna.

Behavioral therapy will address part of the problem, just like sleeve surgery; only a different part.
DON'T BLAME YOURSELF for failing to "change your thinking" or change your relationship with...

    Re: feeling down

Well, what I do have in common with you is that I also lost MORE weight, faster, just by dieting, than I did post-surgery. I dropped 45 lbs in 6 wks once, and last time I dieted I dropped 100 lbs in...
  4. Re: Questions for veteran sleevers from a Doubting Anna.

Does this surgery have long term benefits for maintaining weight loss?
Statistically, yes; and also in my experience.

What did it do for you that just losing the weight on your own, without...

Re: Lying about what type of surgery..

When I was sleeved, I had a hernia repaired and my gallbladder removed at the same time.

    Re: Stretching your sleeve

I don't know. I can eat a WHOLE lot more than I could a year ago.

    Re: Caffeine

I knew that I would have to go without coffee for at least one day, so I weaned myself down in advance of surgery to avoid caffeine withdrawal. I couldn't WAIT to start drinking coffee again, but...

Re: Telling others about my sleeve

Nobody knows about mine, which is how it will stay. I will not let my personal like be a topic of conversation, or worse, debate.

    Re: Food Funeral

I didn't do a food funeral. It never entered my mind to have one, because it never entered my mind that I wouldn't always be able to eat whatver I wanted to. Which, by the way, you will. I can still...

Re: how fast do you lose

I lost weight much slower after surgery than I did prior to it, but I'm no longer willing to do the starvation/crazy cardio method.
  12. Re: What to do when you live with Foodies?

I *AM* a foodie. No problems.
  13. Re: What's the average weekly weight loss after the sleeve? Please post your average!

Faster in the beginning, but very slow average. Like 1 lb per week. I definitely lost weight faster on starvation diets before being sleeved.

    Re: Drinking alcohol

A couple months for me, I think. I didn't feel like it before then.

Re: Anyone 3 years out yet?

I'm a couple years out and love my sleeve... no regrets!
As far as posting here, I never posted much because I couldn't relate to all the negativity.
It seemed like every time I would visit, all...

    Re: Compliments

Yeah, this is me. I would never comment about someone's body, and I would be absolutely mortified if someone commented about mine. Weight is 100% off limits. I don't want to hear that someone thinks...

Re: Did anyone guess you had WLS?

I would say I'm on a diet and change the subject. I wouldn't discuss it beyond that. Under any circumstances.
There is NO WAY I would allow my personal life to become the topic of conversation.

    Re: Save me!

Oh gosh no. I was too focused on getting done, and avoiding complications. As miserable as liquid diets are, I was willing to do just about anything to cure my obesity.

    Re: Getting Cold Feet...

Don't think short term. DON'T focus on the one month out of your life! Think only about your struggles being behind you- and your healthy future.
  20. Re: 3 weeks after surgery and i am facing some problems..any help and suggestion ??

This is totally normal and will pass after a few weeks. There is no reason you can't take chewable vitamins or gummies if you want to.

    Re: Exhausted

I was exhausted for about 6 weeks post op. I barely got out of bed for the first 2 weeks. I slept all day, and after that, I still needed a mid-day nap for another few weeks.

    Re: reassurance needed

If they are always sick and can't keep anything down after 7 months and TWO YEARS they need medical help. That is not typical, and you should NOT base your decision on them.
  23. Re: Question for successful long term sleevers

I don't weigh or measure anything, and nothing is really off limits.
That was stuff I did before surgery, and that chapter of my life is over.
Now I just eat normally, in normal portion sizes, for...

Re: How long did your first stall last?

I always wonder how people define a "stall".
It seems like you have to weigh yourself every day, and if the scale doesn't move down every single day, then you are stalled?

    That sounds like my...

    Re: Grasping for straws here...

You're still very new to this. I experienced that too, and what I learned is that I can't eat dinner past 6 or 6:30 anymore! If I do, when I lay down and start to drift off, it will start to come...
