Happy 12th Surgiversary to me! Still loving my new healthier life! Best wishes to all, hope you have success like I have had! A healthy life is amazing!
January will be 7 years post-op for me. I had zero complications (or even pain) with Dr A and am extremely happy that I used him. Each person is different. My blog on this site has info regarding my...
A really weird thing happened to me 2 years ago (4 years post-op) I stopped producing sweat. 0 sweat, living in the South. No clue why. I have to be careful not to get too hot. Don't think it's...
Congrats! The 24th was my 5 year surigversary with Almanza! I have <3'd every moment of my post-op life. Welcome to the other side! Keep up the great work! Remember, sip, sip, sip!!!
First recommendation is to NOT buy a huge jar! Buy samples for anything that you want to try. Premier is my go-to for quick a meal. When I have time to make my own, I use Syntrax. ZERO carbs and...
BTW, I STILL have my gallbladder!! Woohoo! Thanks to research that I did pre-op, my primary doc agreed to prescribing Ursodiol. I truly believe that taking it for the first year absolutely enabled me...
First, Congratulations on the weight that you have lost and kept off. You need to give yourself a little more credit and not be too hard on yourself. With that said, I completely understand your...
HEY, Jersey Girl!! Glad to see you on here! Life is so much better now. The past 5 years have flown by. Thanks for always being supportive! Looks like you have ROCKED your sleeve!
I can say that...
Sip, sip, sip. People at work have just gotten used to always seeing me with my tumbler. I never walk away from my desk w/o it, unless going to the restroom, of course. Propel, Mio, and other...
Sorry, forgot to share 26520photo!
This group has been invaluable to me the past 5 years.
Someone asked me privately about the worst things to consider about the surgery. I want to share my answer with everyone, in case someone...
Whenever I feel like I need to get back on track, I do the 5 Day Pouch Test. It works very well for me. (I will be 5 years post-op, next week.)

We lost one of our veteran sleevers who was such great friend, supporter, encourager to those of who were sleeved in the '11-'13 timeframe.
Jersey John will be missed.
Best wishes! You've GOT THIS!! :)
I'm 4 years post op and haven't heard of anyone needing it.
BTW, my surgeon for the fleur de lis was Dr. Chris Schaffer at Hedden Plastic Surgery in Birmingham, AL (https://www.heddenmd.com/html/about/christopher-schaffer.html)
I had the fleur de lis on December 12, 2014. My scar looks great!

This is a selfie that I just took, 10 months, post op. 25164

I had to start drinking sweet tea to keep my weight up. I cannot eat more nor do I want to get into the habit of doing that. Gaining weight scares me.
Congrats and best wishes! Just remember to follow your surgeon's instructions!
As a foodie, I understand. However, keep reminding yourself that the healthier version of you is more important. It will come with time. You are doing great, keep up the good work! Once your stomach...
Surgery was in Jan 2012. I met goal, w/o any complications and no exercise. In fact, I didn't start exercising until this summer. I think the biggest things for success are ensuring your head is...
AT&T did 3 1/2 years ago, so, it should still.
It took a very long time for water to be refreshing to me again. I used propel and started drinking tea, which I HATED pre-op.
He did mine Jan 2012. I have not complaints and have such wonderful success.
Have you tried the 5 day pouch test? What size was the tube they used for your surgery?
