Oh my. I am so glad you posted this! I had the same holiday experience. I had no problem eating sweets whatsoever. I gained 4 pounds. :( I am trying to get myself back on track.

I was never forbidden protein shakes after 7 weeks. You just have to make sure they are low calorie and low carb. I still love drinking mine as it helps me meet my protein goal every day.

I can't tolerate anything with carbonation. I feel so sick afterwards. Straws are no problem for me. My surgeon said an occasional diet soda will do no harm, but not every surgeon agrees with him....
