  1. Re: 8 months out--don't get discouraged!

Dena, I think you are exactly right. So much of what is happening with my weight loss is a head game now. I know I've lost a ton of weight, and I know my clothes are way smaller. I can share clothes...
  2. Re: Daily Template for Food, Exercise, Protein, etc.

Love myfitnesspal, and so does my doctor's office.

    Re: Friends and family?

Just try to remind yourself that many "naysayers" are actually people who love and are concerned about you, and mostly they are people who don't know any better. Smile, let them say their piece, and...
  4. 8 months out--don't get discouraged!

Things haven't changed much for me in terms of pounds loss, which is a little discouraging. I've been exercising pretty hard--working out 30-35 minutes on an elliptical every day plus working with...

Re: Hair loss - when does it stoooop??

I haven't found anything to stop the hair loss, although it has slowed down considerably since my doctor upped my protein intake. I swear I can see a difference after days where I don't get it all...
  6. Re: Lets talk about weight and clothing sizes. Report in your weight and what size you wear so we can plan for clothes as we

I haven't really lost much pound-wise in the last little bit, but I'm definitely losing inches. Size 8 pants are sometimes too big, I own a pair of junior size 7 shorts that are a teensy bit snug,...

Sticky: Re: Vegas in May! Are you coming?

I SO wish I could go. I love Vegas and I haven't been there in ages! The room rate is great, but the flight is too expensive. :(

Re: I know it will pass......

It seems like here lately I spend more time on stalls than I do actually losing weight. Just saw my doctor last week, and he told me it was normal and to be expected. He said the closer to goal you...

    Re: Hungry!!!

I quit eating regular sf popsicles, but I LOVED the tropical sf popsicles. I still eat a ton of those. Can you eat sf jello?

    Re: So sore

Don't know about the drainage site since I didn't have to have a drain, but the large incision is where your stomach was actually removed. Mine was sore for a long long time. I was still having...

Re: When can I start driving?

When I had my sleeve surgery, they told me as soon as I was off pain meds I could drive. But when I had my gallbladder removed I had some staples in because the gallstone was so big, and I was not...
  13. Re: 3 weeks till surgery an still no income tax...

You CAN check the IRS website. I forgot to add that earlier. Go to Internal Revenue Service, then click on "Where's my refund?" on the right side of the screen. Then on the next screen find the same...
  14. Re: all you veterans out there.... eating+drinking, Honestly???

I drink while I eat, but I drink water only and I really don't do anymore more than wet my mouth just a little. Otherwise I have a hard time swallowing. And I always wait at least 30 minutes after...
  15. Re: 3 weeks till surgery an still no income tax...

The IRS is running WAY behind this year. They are always running behind at the beginning of tax season, but usually by this time around they've worked the kinks out and gotten caught up. This year it...

    Re: Has anyone tried Provillus?

I did it all. Biotin, nioxin, and now I just picked up a new shampoo that I'm going to try. I got past three months without losing any hair and thought I'd be one of the lucky ones. Then came month...

    Re: Why

I would LOVE a protein pill. Getting enough protein in is still one of my biggest challenges. My surgeon told me that at my current weight I could go down to 40 grams a day, but the bariatric...

    Re: The protein!!!

Force yourself to get the protein in. Nothing can completely stop the hair loss, but lack of protein will certainly make it worse. I so wish I'd been better about getting my protein in early on :(

    Re: Advice

If you take your own pillow, make it a small one. The one I got in surgery was roughly the size of a sheet of copy paper. That's the perfect size to hold in one hand and press against your tummy,...

My parents were none too sure about it either. I told them about it after my first informational meeting, so they had plenty of time to get used to the idea. Chances are your parents are just worried...
