I live in the SF Bay Area too and I didn't have to do the 2 week diet either. I did, however during the 6 months of testing, etc have to lose 12 lbs. Then 2 days before my surgery I did have too fast.

You are actually going very fast. Many people took 6-12 months, even 2 years to get approval and get it down. In my case, I had to wait 7 months. Be thankful it is moving along so quickly.
