  1. Re: Arm lift and face lift all in one procedure - anyone?

Good luck to you! If this first surgery goes well, my doc was suggesting I could also do the thigh lift and tummy tuck (fleur de lis) in the same surgery, which he said would be about 4 hours. So...

    Thanks :)
  3. Arm lift and face lift all in one procedure - anyone?

I haven't posted on here in awhile but things continue to go well for me. I seem to have landed at about 166 pounds. I might be able to lose 5-10 more pounds but, if I never do, I'm pretty happy...

Re: 5 months post op today!

You're doing great - so awesome to read. My kids were a major motivating factor for me as well. I had just passed the year mark on my birthday this year and also celebrated talking a loooong...

Being able to do physical things like that - like running up stairs or hurrying to get somewhere - feels SO good. Congratulations!

    Re: 2 year Surgaversary

Great summary - thanks for posting. I'm coming up on 1 year out but, so far, my experience has been similar.

You look great - awesome progress!
  9. Re: Veterans...#1 thing you miss / don't miss

Sometimes I miss drinking something other than water or water add-ins. I don't drink coffee, so beverages are sorta plain. Sometimes I miss drinking while eating too, but it's more like I think, oh...
  10. Re: "I'm not losing fast enough!" (Yes, you are!)

Certain things should be required reading for sleeve patients and this is one of them!

Re: Had Lap Band, now going for sleeve

Welcome! I took a week off for surgery and was back at my desk job the following week with no issues, but there are other folks on here who did need longer. 2 weeks is probably a safe bet. I...

  14. Re: Hydration advice from those who work in the OR?

The first month post-op, I was definitely sipping, sipping, sipping. Small sips all the time......got very full, very quickly. But by about the 8-10 week mark, I remember being able to drink...
  15. Re: Hydration advice from those who work in the OR?

Right after surgery it may be hard because you won't be able to drink that much at once and sipping constantly is key. You may need to plan on taking enough time to recuperate to let that happen, or...

    Re: Hello Sleevers

Am roughly 10 months out now and have been able to take very large pills for at least 4-5 months, no problems.

I'll also add that, after years of HBP, high cholesterol, sleep apnea and being an...

    Re: How was your Thanksgiving?

This was my first Thanksgiving since getting sleeved in February. Thanksgiving morning especially, I had a few moments thinking how hard it was going to be to look at all that food and not get to...

    Re: Excuses?

The "Eh, I'm not that hungry" or "I had a big breakfast/lunch" has worked for me. I think it's probably a little easier for women, since we're not expected to eat as much.

    Re: Weekend NSV

NSV is a non-scale victory --- any cool little victory separate from the actual number on the scale. I had no idea what it was either, until I came here!

    Weekend NSV

Every week, I get more and more excited at all the cool things I can do that I never would have been able to do before surgery.

This weekend, it was going to the trampoline place with my kids. ...

    Re: Those suicidal gastric sleevers!

After all she's worked for and been through to get where she is now emotionally, and she's still blaming her surgeon's office? I don't know what she expected her surgeon's office could have done -...
  23. Re: Everyone's Journey is different..8 months out

Congrats! Loved reading about your workouts. I've been looking at getting into something like that. Talk about a sense of accomplishment :)

You look fantastic! Way to go :)
  25. Re: 10 months. How much should I be able to fit in my sleeve.

9 months out and it varies day by day for me too. I've comfortably eaten a 6 inch flat bread sub and felt normal-full, and other times, I'm halfway through and I'm just done. Maybe it's what I'm...
