    Re: Counting calories

I use myfitnesspal everyday. As mentioned in earlier posts, it is good info to have. I watch my calories, between 1200 - 1400, and then my protein. I also track calcium, fiber, and sodium.

    Re: Weight loss maintenance

I'm just shy of 6 ft. I'm inside my range of normal weight now. I was 155 in high school, and was considered thin. I guess i just never imagined that at 55 i might be that weight again. :)

I am eating 1200 - 1500 calories per day, and i am having the opposite concern. I am wondering what to do to stop the weight loss. I am very tall so my goal weight is obviously higher. My...
  7. Re: Lactose Intolerant? Make Your Own Almond Milk! Easy and Saves Money

I actually haven't had cow.s milk in about 12 years. i visited a large dairy farm. Turned my stomach; I've been drinking almond or soy milk since. I have no problem getting my protein or calcium...
  8. Re: Lactose Intolerant? Make Your Own Almond Milk! Easy and Saves Money

I use almond milk in my protein shakes. Very low calorie and so much healthier than cow's milk (no hormones and saturated fat). Never tried making my own, but will now. Thanks!

    Re: Sick Of Throwing Up!

For the first couple of months i threw up a lot, sometimes several times a day. I had to be very careful with introducing new foods and with combining foods. About four or five months post surgery,...
  13. Re: Why have WLS if you only have 50 pounds to lose????

I wish I could have had the surgery when I was just 50 lbs overweight. I would have avoided knee surgery, years of blood pressure meds, and untold damage to my self esteem. I might have been...

    Re: Drinking after surgery?

I am almost 8 months out and I drink occasionally. Just like foods, certain things will work and others won't. I have found wine to be a nice treat that doesn't bother my tummy. I cannot tolerate...
  15. Re: Question about stalls! Not the 3 week stall. I mean other ones :-) (kind of long)

I had my surgery in November of last year and found that around month 5 I started to have more frequent and longer stalls. My experience has been that I will stall for about 3 - 4 weeks, and then it...

    Re: What is a slider?

Foods that slide right through your tummy and not fill you up. For me they are crackers, chips, and popcorn. I try and steer clear of the crackers and chips, but I do allow myself popcorn. If you...
