having my surgery on the 13th of August and wanted to know if there are any Floridians out there that are going to have or have had the surgery in Mexico with Dr. Almanza?

Welcome!! I'm in Florida on the west coast...but not having surgery with your doctor but with dr. Chebli. I'm hoping to have surgery by the beginning of November. I'm very confident with him and his office along with his bariatric coordinator, she is absolutely fabulous. She has made getting my checklist completed so much easier than if I had to go it alone...that's just it too, they never make you feel like your alone.
So, sorry I can't help with any info on your doc except that I do see his name all over this site and the folks that I've read on are very happy...good luck with your journey and

I am right there with you Bob jumping through hoops for the next 6 months. I had my consultation Wednesday and I will not be seeing any surgery dates until 2016. I was not given a diet plan as the NUT was out of town attending a family wedding. Dr. told me to do what I have been doing for the pass year which is Nutrisystem. In a year I only lost 44 pounds following that plan. At my weight it is time to do something else. I guess next month I will see the NUT and hopefully get a new diet plan.

Hi, I am in Vero Beach, & I went to Mexico, which was a great decision for me. Hubby is seeing a Dr. in Sebastian, & is scheduled for Oct. The sleeve has been wonderful for me. I did not want hubby to proceed until he saw how I handle the whole eating thing. Now he is looking forward to being able to drop the weight
