Pain Medication

Hi all,

Another question.....for Dr. Almanza's patients....while you are in the hospital, what pain medicine do they give you? IV morphine? IV Dilaudid? The reason I ask is that I get bad migraines from morphine so I was wondering if I will have an option for dilaudid instead.

I really don't recall - I know they gave an IV that nite in the recovery hotel and I was too out of it after surgery to ask. Would be a good thing to bring that up of course to them before the surgery and I am sure they will ask about allergies etc. I'm sure they are just like any US hospital and have options for you.

It was IV Dilaudid, but a couple of patients got different pain meds because of possible allergic reaction. Which they go through with you at check in.
