Asking all the right questions

As my first appointment with my surgon draws closer ive been trying to think of everything and anything i may want to ask him or during the seminar. What are some things i should ask? Is there anything you wish now you had asked before surgery but didnt? As I think of things i have started writting them down in my journal, im just worried i will forget something lol ...i know im probably being silly but i just dont want to be blindsided by something i wasnt expecting :-)

Take your journal with you and write down questions when they go over the proceedure. Sometimes your questions may come up from other questions people ask. I never went to a seminar but got almost all of my info about the surgery from this site. Best of luck on your journey!

Specific to the surgeon I would ask how many procedures they do in a year, what their complication rate is and what the most common complications are. If a surgeon doesn't want to provide answers to those questions you might want to think about a different surgeon.
