Average weight lost per month
How much weight on average do you lose per month? Mine is slowing down, which is to be expected I guess, but I really want to average a 15lb per month loss. In the past month I have only lost about 10, so it's getting slower. I'm almost 4 months out and am down 69lbs, but I wonder how the people I see that lost 150 lbs in 6 or 7 months do it. THat's just amazing.
Re: Average weight lost per month
Actually 10lbs is average per month after the first initial month. I been losing at 10lbs and though I wish it could be 15 I am happy with 10lbs because I been reading so many people who been dropping more and losing hair etc. I haven't had any of the issues others are having dropping at a slower rate. Then again if I exercised I would probably lose a few more pounds a month. I heard strength training is the best for best weight loss results.
Re: Average weight lost per month
Im only a little more than a month out so mine hasnt slowed down yet. however a good friend of mine made a year in August since he was sleeved and his weight loss was as follows:
3 weeks 45 pounds
4 weeks 53 pounds
8 weeks 73 pounds
12 weeks 100 pounds
Hope this helps... Good Luck on your journey
Re: Average weight lost per month
You have lost a good amount of weight I will like to know how others do it too. I think I started slow and from what I've heard the first 6 mo you loose the most weight
Re: Average weight lost per month
I have 20 - 30 lbs left to lose. I stalled this past month. The average is 10 lbs per month, but when you don't have as much to lose, it slows down. Went to the doctor yesterday, and talked to the dietician. She said I have to exercise and burn 3000 calories a week now. That's 5 days riding my bike for 1 hour. Also she said do not eat any carbs after 3 pm. So I just started doing that today. If you need a snack after 3 pm, eat some cheese or protein.
Re: Average weight lost per month
I am a little after a month out. I lost 24lbs and have been stuck for a week at the same weight. I don't eat a whole lot and do walk in the evenings, I am hoping this is not it for me. I still have at least 40 more lbs to go and it amazes me how others can lose so much weight so quickly. I understand our bodies and journey's are different, I'm just saying, it's hard not to see others and think, I wish that was me.
Re: Average weight lost per month
There is not a one size fits all answer. Men typically lose faster then women, younger people often lose faster then older people - and of course people are all just different! The more you need to lose, it comes off faster (based on pounds). It is more comparable to look at percentage of excess weight lost.
I was given some basic guidelines of what to expect for my particular scenario but I do not know if it is applicable to others. 15# per month is totally unrealistic for me. As you can see, my weight loss per month slowed down after the initial few months:
Cumulative weight loss:
Lost after 1 month 36 (this includes 8# lost in preop also)
Lost after 2 month 45.8
Lost after 3 month 57
Loss after 4 months 69.2
Loss after 5 months 81
Loss after 6 months 94
Loss after 7 months 100.6
Loss after 8 months 105
Loss after 9 months 112.4

Check out my chart below.
The more you have to lose, the faster it seems to go. That is what I have seen from members of this forum.
