So, I hate oatmeal. I've ALWAYS hated oatmeal. But, because I know it's good for me, I've decided that I'm going to choke it down and fake it 'til I make it. Any thoughts/recipes/ideas for me?

I know that " they" say it''s good for you but in my opinion, if you actually have to CRAM it down, then why. Give yourself a break. You don't get much food to eat as it is. So I think you should at least find an adequate alternative and at least enjoy it. Keep up the good work and remember, this doesn't have to be painful.
I agree with Jane!
The health benefits are what I am looking for. So... I am willing to try it, hence the thread looking for ideas. Thanks for the input though.
Try Cream of Wheat instead!!!
I like it with organic blueberries, a little agave nectar, wheat germ, a few walnuts--toppings make it edible!
What I did was buy some sugar free frozen fruits (Walmart) thawed them a bit, added some Splenda, puréed them and added the Cream of Wheat. Not bad! I tried using the Torani syrup and although not bad, I like the tart taste best. I prefer tart over sweet any day.
Add some flavored protein powder for and extra boost!
One of my favorites is to cook up a big batch of it, spread it in something like a casserole pan (maybe just 1/2-1 inch thick) and leave in the fridge. When ready to eat, cut off a bar, cook it like a pancake with a butter flavored spray and sprinkle a little cinnamon/sugar (splenda, etc) over it... you need a lot less sweetener that way rather than mixed in, since you get a little in every bite.
And you have to check out this site... she does some crazy things with it that all sound and look WONDERFUL, and she doesnt like anything sweet so she always gives alternatives to sugar, etc. Look into the "Boatmeal" (Baked oatmeal) on here!
All things Oatmeal
I like it with almond milk, splenda, protein powder and a spoonful of peanut butter. Yum!!
I agree-life is short. Find another complex carb you like.
