I started taking biotin 5000 mg 1xday before surgery. Recommended by my hair stylist as the hair vitamin.
Thanks I will try it.....
I'm just curious Terry...did your nutritionist advise you to take 5,000mg of Biotin? I saw in another thread that someone else was taking 10,000mg a day and it makes we wonder how much is enough and how much might be too much? My nutritionist advised me to take 1,000mg a day, but the Biotin bottle advises to take three of those (so, 3,000mg) each day. I don't want to short myself! I am also taking Silica, which I read on the Internet is also helpful to prevent hair loss. The Silica bottle describes it as "The Natural Nutrient for Hair, Bones, and Nails". Those are 500mg, and I'm taking them twice a day, although the bottle recommends 3x's a day. Maybe I need to step up my nutrients!
try not to worry about the hair loss, mine lasted about eight weeks and now has dramatically slowed down..it does grow back but i also took biotin 7500mgs and nail and hair vitamins. when the hairloss happened i worried loads but it all turned out ok for me and i am sure it will for you. best wishes helen
I lost hair and worried if it would stop. The loss slowed down and now
it is getting thicker again. I take the Biotin as well. I started with a band
then converted to the sleeve so the hair thinning has something to do
with the weight loss and not the exact procedure.
Hi, I started biotin before surgery plus collagen caps. I still 5 months out drink a protein shake every morning and I use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner and knock on wood I have had little or no hair loss.
Well to tell the truth it was the only ones the store had on the shelf:)
My hair started to fall out about 3 months post op. Have just seen a doctor about it and have had blood taken and am waiting for the results. Obviously something is lacking, just need to pinpoint what it is exactly. It really freaked me out when clumps of my hair fell out but it helps to know it's quite common and it does stop!
That is one of my worst fears... besides feeling nauseated for a long time... and can I never eat carbs again? I am at the beginning research stages - 2 seminars scheduled on 6/26/13 and 7/1/13... hoping to find out answers --- at 212 at a5'2" and want to get to 120 - Can you loose too much weight with the sleeve? Any other concerns w/ the sleeve? Nutritional deficiencies?
