I've done some googling, a few sites say it's ok. Ask the people on the day at the MRI place as well - they'll be very hot on what's ok and what's not because they would be doing so many on older patients with various implants, replacements, staples etc.
Yes, I've had two in the last year, Brain and Spinal. The staples are titanium and there is no issue. Please don't worry.
Thanks to both of you, a LITTLE less worried though, thank goodness for valium before the procedure,
My brother used to have a lot of MRIs -- he always said "Nel, I'm off now to my tropical island." Your imagination can be very powerful.
I'm a doctor and was reassured by my surgeon that the titanium staples are no problem. I believe him.
Also my partner, who has titanium in her neck and ankle (she is a bionic woman) has had MRIs no problem.
You'll be fine.

Yup, no problems with staples. I worked in an MRI unit for about 10 years and answered those sort of ? Daily! :)
Thanks for all ur posts, i survived it, they did put a washcloth over my eyes and i think this helped, i wouldve just closed my eyes but sure i wouldve opened them and freaked out,
