Regrets
I have to admit this time yesterday when we were driving home from a 3 hour trip, I felt regretful about my surgery. My husband and daughter were eating Chick-fil-A sandwiches, and I was eating the chicken salad out of one of their sandwiches. In my mind, I could just envision the buttery fried goodness they were eating. Food just doesn't emotionally satisfy me anymore, and it's like I've lost an old friend.

Re: Regrets
It will get easier as time passes. I had lunch with several friends at the mall yesterday. Everybody was eating chinese food or chicken fingers. I had about half of burrito bowl from Izzo's. I kept watching the french fries. I wouldnt let myself take one though. Later while shopping I tried on jeans that were a size 4. I'm am thankful that I did not eat the french fry. I do not believe that one or two fries would have kept me out of the 4s but I want to be true to the reason I did this. I want a healthier lifestyle and I know that I will have to periodically fight with my old self to keep my new slimmer self in check. It really does get easier though. Hubby wanted pizza for supper tonight and it didn't even turn my head. Wishing you success.

Re: Regrets
Perhaps you know this but that's the point. All of us, well most of us have an old friend that is far from a friend. The comfort we get from that friend is no comfort at all but he is killing us with every visit. Killing us with a smile on our faces.

Re: Regrets
Cigar man is right again. That old friend of food is equivalent to a crack dealer giving you free product - you don't need that friend. I find it wonderful to look at delicious food and be full and not want that junk. It is a great feeling of freedom not to be hooked on overeating!

Re: Regrets
At 10 days out food didn't even smell good, I was still on liquids.
Chick-Fil-A is one of our favorite places to go - I get a side of grilled nuggets, but even if I were to have the breaded nuggets - it's only about 6 carbs. 4 completely fills me up.

Re: Regrets
You have to break up with food and develop a new relationship with it, one that works for the new healthier you. It is a difficult process and does get easier with time. You can do it!!
