I believe Grace does on here I think she showed me one time and I forgot how to it...It is I think your weight you lost divided by your goal weigh or something like thst lol sorry
Take the number of pounds you have lost and divide it by your original weight and multiply that by 100:
{(278-238)/278}100--> {(40)/278)}100 --> {(.14)}100= 14% so far!
Nuerorat is right on the formula for % of weight loss but if you want to measure how much of your excess weight is gone you take the amt lost and divide by the amount of weight it will take to get to your goal. I.E. I have lost 70 out of 200 so 70/200=.35 x 100 = 35% of my excess weight is gone. They predict you will lose 60% in 6-9 months.
Thanks to you all! 14% seems a little depressing... lol
Wow! All this time I've been depressed that I wasn't losing like I should. Although it's been a struggle, I've lost 81% of my excess weight (Dr. recommendations) in 8.5 months. Makes me feel so much better! Thanks!
Very helpful! Thank you for sharing! Melissa..it's not depressing! Congratulations and keep up the good work!
My NUT uses this formula to calculate the % of excess weight I have lost.
(Weight on the first day seeing the surgeon - current weight)/(Weight on the first day seeing the surgeon - weight when BMI is 25)*100
E.g. Weight 200 when you start this journel and weight 150 now. The weight for 25 BMI is 125.
The % of excess weightloss is (200-150)/(200-125)*100 = 67% excess weight
