Menu/Meal Planning site help
My time always seems to be limited...between a job, a house, 3 dogs and exercising...I hardly have time to get on the computer to research or even post some days. I was wondering if anyone has found a site on here that has quick, easy and healthy meals. I googled gastric sleeve diets and seems like all I get are surgeons willing to perform the surgery. So are there any good/favorite sites out there? Evidently what I am eating now isn't working as it is coming off at a snails pace.

Re: Menu/Meal Planning site help
I think you should both try to get advice from a nutritionist, even though the internet is a good place to find information, it's better when it comes from a professional that has been trained for this purpose.
For example about 2 weeks ago I only lost 1 pound, so my nutritionist readjusted my diet, we cut the carbs for dinner and increased a bit my protein intake and this last week I lost 4 pounds and out of those 4, 3 where entirely fat!!
I was worried I had already hit a plateau because I already reached my goal, but I still want to loose a couple more and I have only been almost 5 months out of surgery.
I honestly suggest to all of you that if possible after surgery continue with a nutritionist; this will help you a lot, considering that the amounts of food we can eat are limited sometimes it is really hard for us to be creative about what to eat or how. My nutritionist also gives me ideas on how to prepare food differently so I don't get tired and she is in communication with my surgeon who is in another country.
About a website, I think MoreFitDiane posted a couple of days ago something about a website where you can even have your meals' diary, what I don't remember is if it also has recipes. You may want to look around.
Hope this helps :)
Re: Menu/Meal Planning site help
Guys, I would be happy to add something like this to our site over time, so send me your ideas and links to sites that have this, or tell me the functionality it should have, etc.. and I will see about making one for us, but better ;)
Re: Menu/Meal Planning site help
I think the site that they are speaking of is fitday.com. I have been using it and have found it really helpful......:)
Re: Menu/Meal Planning site help
It is fitday.com. it is such a help. My nutritionist was telling me about it and I popped the papers I had printed off from the website on my food intake and handed it to her.
It really is nice to be able to use this for the calorie intake and then the fitness tab helps you figure out how many cal's you burn during the day as well.
Enjoy
Kathy;)
Re: Menu/Meal Planning site help
Yup, fitday.com is great for helping to keep track of what you are eating, how many calories, fat grams, protein grams, and carbs. If you're looking for recipes, I recommend The South Beach Diet Cookbook...I'm going to be buying one for myself. It seems to follow everything my nutritionist has been telling me. ALso, someone, some time ago, started a thread here called Recipes or something like that. Just do a search and you should find it. If we keep that going, we can share good recipes that we find and enjoy.
