No weight loss in 2 weeks
Hello All
Yesterday was my one month surgiversary and I am so darn frustrated. I have not lost any weight in 2 weeks. I am doing everything right and I just don't understand it. I lost 15 pounds with my pre-surgery diet and I lost 18 pounds my first 2 weeks after surgery but that seems to have completely stopped. I just started to eat solid foods this week and I am drinking a lot of water. I have been walking and some light weight work. I just don't know what to do. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Have you tried doing your measurements? I find when I don't see the scale moving I see it in inches!! Don't worry though. Sometimes just making sure you are adding more protein and cutting down on carbs and you can get the scale moving!! I have lost a lot of weight with the sleeve but I had my plateau moments and these things worked for me!! Good Luck!!

Thanks for the wise words. To be honest I am not eating any carbs and maybe about 2oz of protein per meal so maybe I need to add a protein shake at dinner time to try and up my protein. I think I am not taking in enough but find it so hard since my sleeve only holds a very tiny bit right now.....I have dropped 3 clothes sizes and I am certainly happy about that but it is killing me that in 2 weeks I have lost a big fat 0....lol
Thanks again
Re: No weight loss in 2 weeks
The doctor told me today that it is best to get 60 to 80 grams of protein a day. Especially when you are still not eating a lot of other foods you will need to add the protein. Good luck.

Re: No weight loss in 2 weeks
hi! i am over 4 months after my surgery and still feeding mostly with liquids. the scale is an every day torture because i stall for long periods, then lose a kilo and then stall again... i think thats because the lack of food intake but i still feel like the first days when i could only drink a few sips...
Re: No weight loss in 2 weeks
Hang in there Tammy! You are doing great so far. My nutritionist said that we will all hit plateaus and not to become discouraged. (Of course, I didn't think the plateaus would start so soon.) She also said that it is essential to strive for a minimum of 60 grams of protein each day. You want your body to live off of the stored fat, not your muscle; so it is important to keep up the protein and the exercise so that you don't lose muscle. I bet the next time you step on the scale you will have dropped multiple pounds!
