Hello, ok call me slow but as I re-read your message from months ago I realized you were talking to me, I know duh...My insurance is Medicaid I NOW have high blood pressure which I had never had before....my knees kill me on a daily basis, my back not so much, now this mess in my stomach has caused me to have the poops just when ever and I have no control and I have had several times when I was in public and was so humiliated, no warning it just happens....I have begged my Dr to please take it out and give me the sleeve, I do not understand what his problem is, I told him I am having episodes where I get such a horrific pain around the port that it takes me to the floor and I lay there curled up in a ball sweating terribly for about 5 minutes and then it slowly goes away but every visit which my last was in April and my next is May 23rd he wants to gove me a fill, he tells me the sleeve will not benefit me, which I ask him what he meant and all he said was, it just wont help, Thanks Doc....well I am now up to 210 which is a 5 pound gain from April and I even got a fill in April, why cant he see something is NOT right...Thank you so very much sorry it took so long to get back to you..............getting and staying very depressed....Janet Strout

Hi how are you doing! Glad to hear you losing!! I don't have a scale yet and it is hard to keep myself from buying one but I rather not obsess over it! Its hard to wait for weeks and not know if im doing ok or not but I guess when the time is right I will give in and get one! I actually went for a weigh in today and I am at 197.5 which is a grand total of 35.5lbs down since surgery! I am happy about that and hoping that it keeps going! Hope all is well with you! Keep up the good work!

Hi Julie, how is it going over there? Today I went under 200! I have not had too many problems with the food, when I listen to my stomach. I go to dr Tuesday! Hopefully I hear that I'm on track! I hope everything is going good for you too. Dana

Hi Julie! I went for my 2 week post=op yesterday and I am down a total of 22lbs since surgery! I was advanced to "soft foods" but it hasn't been easy! I tried tilapia drenched in lemon yesterday and lets just say it wasn't a good night! I haven't got to ordering the unflavored protein but I am doing it right now! I haven't been able to get my protein in at all! I have to find some pureed recipies I don't think I am ready to take on even fish I tried tuna today and am still full and uncomfortable and took maybe 4 small bites!!

I go back to see my Dr. on the 6th of Nov. I saw him on the 29th and said I was down 219 from my pre-op weight of 233! Everyone is telling me that I am thinning out quickly but I DONT SEE IT! And boy do I feel like I am not going about this the right way! I work from home taking care of children and feel like no matter how many times I remind myself to sip sip sip im not sipping enough! I feel like I am often hungry and think it is a lack of hydration! The only time I get to sit down is times like this and I have a bottle of electrolyte water with me and feel ridiculously full but don't want to stop because I need the liquids!! Also, Did you make the shakes and never finish them? I am constantly making the shakes and never finishing them! I cant have more then 1 or 2 a day idk if its a mental thing but I just avoid them at all costs! I do like jello and the sugar free pops those have been my only variety so far! Also, is it normal to be afraid that once I start pureed and soft foods that my weight loss will slow therefore I feel like I just want to continue to drink liquids and protein shakes (when I can) ... I have so much going through my mind its crazy!

Hello Julrs13 I just saw your post on one of my postings in the October 2013 sleevers and would love to have someone to talk to along the way! My surgery date (October 21st) a few days after yours but hoping you are doing well!
  8. 1 week post op. Weight at time of surgery, 215, weight today 209. Only problem is allergic reaction to something they used on my incisions, so they itch severely and look like giant hives. Dr. says to take Benadryl and deep clean and dry. Has anyone else had this happen??? If you did what did you do for it? I feel great otherwise. Hope everyone is doing great.
  9. I had my surgery on Wed last week and I feel great today. I was worried about constipation, but that took care of itself this morning. I think it is amazing how fast you heal from this surgery. I am able to go out and walk and get all of my food and fluids in as of yesterday. I think it is crazy for you to have to throw up even once. My surgeon won't even discuss a lapband surgery anymore. If you give me a little more info I can tell you if your insurance will be a problem. I actually do the reviews for anthem if you have them so I am very familiar with the policy's. I would need your BMI, co morbid conditions and the WLC would take care of the rest. I am sure my surgeon would be very sympathetic to your condition. I hope you can work something out. This is a permanent thing and you should be able to get rid of the piece of plastic making you sick. As a nurse it really ticks me off that a doctor would let you suffer for all these years. Hope to hear from you. Julie
