    Happy birthday!
  2. Stalls suck! I went to my one month appointment and found out I was eating too often. Ok. 3 meals a day even if I can only eat 2oz at a meal and 60 oz of liquids. Got it. So, WHY HASN'T THAT SATANIC SCALE MOVED? I'm trying to be patient, but it's hard. People want updates now and I'm like "Well, still workin on it, but it's a little slow." I exercise 5 days a week and take my vitamins yet... Nothing. The only good thing is I don't feel sorry for myself. It just really ticks me off! This body better start cooperating or else.
  3. Ok, day 2 post op. surgery went very well, but I'm having trouble getting my liquids in.im around 20oz. Popsicles are pretty easy to eat, so I guess I'll focus on those and hope things get better. Other than that I, feeling pretty good. Everyone at the hospital was sooo nice. It was my first time for surgery and I was a little nervous.

Good luck!! I feel the same - anxious - getting house in order.
  5. OMG! I finally got a date. I'm very excited. Scared to death too. I have never had surgery. But, I have faith. Everything will fall into place. I can't wait! It seems so far away but I know it will go by quickly. Shoot, between getting my house in order and work ready for me to be absent, I'll have no time at all to get anxious.

    I can't wait!!!!
  6. Hi all,
Sorry I kind of disappeared. Too much in my life right now to go into. I'm still on track to have surgery. Insurance is taking their sweet time approving everything, but I think it's just normal beauracracy. I'm now looking at a Nov 16 surgery date. I'm ok with it. At this point I'm going with the flow. I believe it will all work out just fine. I will post again soon. I should have a date this week.

Good Luck! Wishing you a speedy recovery!
  8. Well, a week with my parents (both obese) at the lake and I didn't gain weight. I Must say I was worried, but I managed to use the "little" self control I have and not over eat too much. I was far from perfect but I was better than any other time i have gotten together with my parents. Yes, i had already pegged these times as weaknesses for me. Don't get me wrong. My parents are very supportive; they are just older and set in their ways. I brought my low carb foods, but their house was booby trapped with temptations at every corner. We even went into town (45min away) and went shopping. I put a large bag of Goldfish cookies in my basket. In my head I was going through the list of reasons I could eat these cookies. I knew I would not be able to control myself and eat only a few. 2 more aisles and I put them next to a bottle of detergent and never turned around. I felt good making it past this temptation, but really concerned at the level of obsession I had. No one should ever have to put that much thought into a stupid bag of cookies.
  9. I went to see Dr Macik yesterday and he was very impressed with my preopweight loss and says I can schedule as early as October! I am so excited. I can't wait for the extra boost in my new way of eating. I decided to start my new life 3 months ago when I began this journey. For me it was all or nothing. Why wait? I had read about people having depreession about what they could not eat any more and I was scared I would feel the same way even though I should be enjoying my new smaller stomach. So, I decided to start now so that i can work through those feelings ahead of time and focus on the positive After my surgery.
  10. I went to the nutritionist today and she gave me my prep and postop diet plans. I'm really starting to get excited now. I am able to have surgery in October but I would have to take two weeks sick leave. I was leaning toward Thanksgiving break and a week of sick leave. I'm not sure if I can wait the extra time. I really want to do this. I'm more sure of this everyday.
  11. Sorry, I have no idea what I'm doing yet.
