  7. Ah Bridge, not a million miles away! And you are in Middlesex where a lot of my family are! You have definitely got the right attitude to start this - well done you! I wish I had at the start, but I'm in the zone now. You won't regret it I promise - not long to go now until a whole new life is ahead of you.

  11. Hello Allie! I am doing better now. It sounds like we both had some trouble after surgery. I ended up in the hospital 5 days with acute renal failure and some other issues. It resolved itself and I am now on the mend, Thankyou for asking! I have lost 5 lbs since surgery. I think it sounds like we are both pretty much on track!! YAY US!! I'm happy to hear you are doing better too! Tami

About Alliejc
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
I am 45 years old, divorced and mum to 15 years old twin boys who are my whole world. I have been overweight since the age of 4, so have absolutely no idea what it is like to be slim, or buy clothes from a 'normal' shop. I have lost weight numerous times but no more than 3 stone each time, and every time I went off the diet, I put on more than I lost. My health is now an issue. I have high blood pressure and now diabetes and I now feel that I can't do things with my kids that I really want to. So I took the decision to ask my gp about surgery as I am now desperate. So here goes to a new, happy and healthy life!

Christmas target

by Alliejc on 12-24-2012 at 07:27 AM
So...I had set myself a target for Christmas day. I wanted to get to 6 stones lost but the week before it didn't look like I was going to make it. I weighed myself yesterday and have lost almost half a stone this week - hitting bang on 6 stone! I'm ecstatic! It really does give me the boost I need to continue this healthy eating.

I don't think it is like this for everyone, but I am still struggling with eating. The minute I have had a mouth or two of food, I get terrible gurgling

2 months and I think my head is finally 'there'!

by Alliejc on 10-28-2012 at 06:55 AM
I am now just over 2 months post surgery and I've lost 4 stone and 3lbs. I'm so thrilled at seeing the weight loss that I think I am finally losing my love of food - which has been a life long habit.

I know I'm not eating as much as I should be, and I'm still struggling to get as much fluids in as I should but I am so conscious about WHAT I am eat rather than the amount now which is great. I check all the fat, sugar, etc contents on the sides of food packets and I never snack in

Wow this isn't what I was expecting from the sleeve

by Alliejc on 10-18-2012 at 02:13 PM
Hi

I had my surgery 7 weeks ago. I'm really pleased with my weight loss so far but I have to say the whole experience wasn't what I expected.

I was under the illusion that most 'normal' sized people are under...that this was an easy fix. I didn't matter how many times I had read on here that it wasn't, I was convinced I wouldn't be hungry or even want food that much. I had absolutely no counselling or idea what to expect post surgery.

A week after
