Glad to hear you are doing well! I'm doing good. Super excited about my surgery next week. Hubby has been wonderful putting up w/me the past 4 months. I know that I have been driving him crazy w/all of the sleeve talk. Thanks for the comment on the profile pic. Hubby took it last Fall. It was nicely cropped. LOL!

Thank you and congrats on 48lbs! That makes me think about what it would be like for me to lose #50. Amazing isn't it?? At this point I find it impossible to get very much water down, it seems like we are always planning the next meal/snack in order to get the protein in. So what kinds of foods are you pureeing?

Hi, We are back from surgery! We did well and my friend Joyce and I took your advice about walking as soon as possible....it did help. How are you doing? You must be doing the pureed foods now right?

This site has truly helped me too, especially in getting that "Feel good about going to Mexico" thing. I understand about what you said about the toleration of pain. When you don't expect it it can be a shock. But hey we are being CUT.....a darn big CUT too! LOL
Flying to San Diego tomorrow, surgery is Saturday morning. Whewww!!!
Keep me updated on how you are doing ok.

Glad to hear that the surgery went well. Thanks for the input on the bruseing, this is something that I will be looking for now, and will know what it is. Keep walking so everything can work back into place and displace all of the air in your system. It's nice to hear about someone who calls the pain manageable and tolerable instead of complaining about discomfort all the time. Keep up the good attitude, and remember that with each step you take you are that much closer to your goal. Keep us updated so we can celebrate with you.

So glad to hear things went well and you don't have PAIN! I notice some people do nothing but complain about how they feel after the surgery and then there are a lot of people that take things in stride...so to speak. It sounds like you are a pretty optimistic person and are taking things in stride; good for you!! Thanks for the "walking" tip, I will certainly give it my best! My friend Joyce and I are having surgery done on the same day (Saturday...Dec. 17th) with Dr. Kelly and Trish in Mexico. Did you have your surgery in Mexico or U.S.?

Hello, I noticed you are having your surgery today. I can only imagine how nervous you were. I would really like to hear back from you about your journey. I hope all is going well and God guided the hands of the Dr. when he was doing surgery on you. Take good care and do all that the Dr. says to do!

4 Month Post Surgery

by TDinWI on 04-16-2012 at 01:36 PM
I recently hit my 4 month surgery anniversary and wanted to share just a few items:

- As of yesterday I have lost 100 Pounds. Currently on a steady 2 pounds per week loss curve.
- BMI is now below 39. It started at 53.
- Waist size from 56 to 42
- Shirt size from 4XL to XL or 2XL depending on the clothes
- Sleep apnea is just about completely gone. I still wear the mask at night, and will continue to do so until my pulmonalogist tells me I don't need

My Frustration with Buffalo Wild Wings (BW3)

by TDinWI on 03-19-2012 at 12:53 PM
Let me start this by saying that I know Hot Wings are not a good food choice for VSG patients, so please hold off on telling me I shouldn't have been ordering them in the first place. That's not really the point of my post. Trust me when I say ... it's a once a year thing.

Every year I go to BW3's for the 1st 2 days of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. On Friday, I decided I wanted to order a small portion of Boneless Wings. One of my absolute favorite treats before surgery, and

2 Months Post-Op

by TDinWI on 02-13-2012 at 10:47 PM

It's been 2 months since I was sleeved, and I am blessed to be able to say it has been a smashing success so far, with few if any real complications. I feel very blessed to have healed quickly, and had a great support structure in place up and down the line (including this forum, which has provided me great inspiration, information, and moral support from so many).

Just thought I would share the measurable success I have had for all those that are thinking about

Dear 300 Pounds

by TDinWI on 01-05-2012 at 09:07 AM
This morning, I left you. I know what you're thinking. "I've heard this before, and you always come running back to me'. I'm writing to tell you, that this time, it's for good. You shall never see me again.

I would lying if I didn't admit to having fun finding my way to you in the past. The nights out with the boys, drinking beer and eating wings. The holiday dinners with family, stuffing myself with food, and deserts. The quiet nights in front of the tv watching movies

3 Weeks Post Op

by TDinWI on 01-02-2012 at 03:00 PM
Today is the 3 week anniversary of my surgery, and in the 5 weeks since starting the pre-op liquid diet I have lost 51 pounds, and as of today have now lost more weight since the surgery (26) then I did on the pre-op liquid diet (25).

Today I started my 2 week soft food phase. Started the day with a 1 egg omlette and piece of toast. Was unaable to finish either. I'm looking forward to some baked fish and wild rice tonight. It's nice to be able to have something to eat which I
