Hi, just read one of your posts. Sorry to hear about your complications. Please let me know if you need someone to talk to about it... I'm the Delaware Complications Poster Child. My case has actually made it into a few medical journals. I'm about 10 months and 5 surgeries out from my first sleeve surgery, going through tests for surgery number six. Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone =)

That sucks, I really don't think there's any other way to describe it! I haven't had surgery and appreciate all your honesty about what can happen. I can only hope you start keeping fluids/foods down soon. x

Again, please let me know if I can do anything. I am still willing to come and visit with you in person. So sorry you are having complications. I have a friend whose daughter and she had the surgery and the daughter is also having a lot of complications including both lungs collapsed, blot clots, etc. She is still in the hospital right now. I feel awful as I feel I talked them into having the surgery because mine went so well. PLEASE private message me if you want.
  4. Thank you soo much I think I am ok Im at Portsmith Naval Hosp just nervous as I hadnt read about any of these complications. I will keep you posted thanks so much for the support.

Oh no! I'm so sorry it's not going well. I'm sure it will ease up over time. I remember regretting it the first week. Some recoveries just take longer. Hang in there!

My Sleeve is Broken!

by buffy on 02-18-2012 at 03:19 PM
I am 7 wks post and have nothing but problems. I still cant keep food down. I feel anorexic as i throw up 2-3xs after every meal. My Dr tried to convince me it was in my head and that I am making myself sick. Today my 3rd upper GI found the problem. My sleeve split in half making almost 2 stomachs with a tiny tube in the middle going to the bottom portion only allowing fluids so the food gets thrown back up. Thank god they finaly found something as I was afraid I was going crazy. Im in the hosp

need advise sleeve vs bypass???

by buffy on 11-06-2011 at 08:29 PM
My last appt is in 2 weeks I have to choose what surgery but opinions are so
different I dont know what to pick. My Dr is pushing bypass said you lose weight faster and keep it off after. I am 250 and want to get to 160.
Would anyone share with me why you chose sleeve over bypass? thanks Buffy
