Phyllis, i forgot to ask you about your gall bladder issue. I'm sorry it went bad. I'm sure you know it is common (30%). I have been taking Ursodiol (anti-gallstone meds) since the surgery. Should be able to stop at 6 mos post-op. Did you take any meds to prevent the problem? No matter, it is still no guarantee to prevent stones.
I wish you the best and a speedy recovery.
    take care..........amy

Oh no, that sucks, I'm so sorry. The good thing is...ta da the month after surgery I lost 21lbs. I got dumping syndrome so everything went through me. Unfortunately, it did not last. I've had a bad month, only lost 3lbs so far in March but I'll take it. It's been an extremely stressful month with tax season, sick kid and coaching a school team for competition on Saturday and I think I'm getting strep throat (it's what my son has).

I'm at 186, 17 from goal so I kind if expect it to slow down. Tomorrow is my 6 month surgiversary. I have lost 62/63lbs, down 33 inches (I measured for the first time today). I've gone from size 22 to 12/14. I have 14s that are getting too big but I'm not buying new clothes yet. I've lost a ton of hair, probably half my hair so I think I'm ready to chop a good portion of it off!

Other than that, I'm doing great and staying positive. I don't stress about stalls etc because I know it's part of the process. I'll check in with you before gb surgery. Hang in there and know that the only weight you may put on is IV fluid and the gases and you'll lose that within a week!

Take care and thanks for letting me know!

Hi Phyllis, You are doing fantastic!! I agree with Michelle, you are an inspiration. Between controlled eating and regular exercise.......you are doing it all right. Congrats !! Michelle and i are in a race to get to Onderland. I think she's going to beat me ;-)

I'm wondering if you are seeing the amazing light show where you are. I've seen the pictures from Fairbanks......absolutely gorgeous. I'm happy for you. Hope to get inspired and get back on track.
  8. I've never seen the honey roasted almonds. They sound good. Actually I have tried the cinnamon and the cocoa ones and I like the other flavors better. Hope you are having a good week. I weigh in today and will post my 3 month total! I am hoping that it warms up some day soon-the cold is getting old-really fast!!!

I bought the honey roasted almonds yesterday. They make a great little snack and a little goes a long way. I was tempted by the cinnamon ones but the sugars were a bit high. I'm sure they're super yummy!
  10. Well, I am not very creative.(food wise) I always have a shake for breakfast. I use the Pure Protein powder from Sams or Walmart, almond milk and the frozen berry mix from Sams. That starts my day with 27 grams of protein. Then I eat almonds EVERY day. I mix them up. They have a nice variety of flavors. I get BBQ, Wasabi, cinnamon-I just have a lot of flavors on hand and I like I said, I never skip them. They are my treat. Sometimes I eat the protein bars. There are some Pure Protein ones that are 20 protein. For lunch sometimes I just have peanut butter on crackers. I measure everything. 2T of PB and 5 crackers of some sort (usually saltines) is plenty. I also eat tuna sometimes or canned chicken. For dinner I usually don't eat much. Maybe just a few bites of whatever hubby is having. Cottage cheese is good. I haven't been real hungry so I am taking advantage of not eating when I am not hungry. I have walked almost every day since surgery. I started back (I was a regular pre-op) to the gym this past week. I do cardio 4-5 days a week (this includes my walking) and I am going to aim for strength training 2 days a week. I have lost a lot of my muscle tone since losing so fast. Well, enough of my blabbing. Keep in touch-write soon!

65lbs is amazing. Okay, I need to know what you eat, drink and do for exercise. I am totally inspired by you. I need ideas because I just don't know what to eat anymore! Either that, or I'm coming to Alaska to burn my fat off in the cold

It is just beyond me, that kind of cold! Stay warm and safe. Yes I've lost the weight. I was down to 206...yay but now I'm fluctuating a few lbs up and down. Today's an up day lol!
