Just stopping by to let you know I'm thinking about you and hoping your recovery is going as well as mine is. I haven't really posted about anything yet; just resting and getting used to the new stuff (how to roll over in bed without pulling on my incisions, etc).

I know I'm only a few days ahead of you and I am really excited that we get to compare notes as we go through this journey. I'm going to be doing my weekly weigh ins on Wednesdays (Partly because I had surgery last Wednesday, and partly because I am a fan of illiteration LOL).

    Keep us posted!

    Good luck tomorrow!
  6. I am in Mexico!!! Tomorrow is the big day. The nerves come and go. Today I am reminded that it's not all up to me. I've done my part and all I can do is pray that all goes well. My hubby is here with me. I'd probably lose my mind if I were alone.

    Wishing you well.

Good luck and safe travels! I'm at the airport now, nervous but excited!
  8. Feeling super gassy...I have one more week left.
  9. Hi Jenny! I am hanging in there. It's definitely not easy, but what other choice do I have. I am trying hard to stay focus and get through these next few days before having surgery. I am really hoping all goes well. I am excited about starting the new year without my band but now a sleeve. My kids are younger so I don't have to worry about them since I still prepare separate meals for them.

Hi - I'm starting the diet tomorrow. They said 3 days but I figure I might as well get used to it! I'm getting rid of the bad food in the house. I have 2 teenagers, 1 of them is already vegan. I told them to be thinking of things they can make themselves for dinner (they're 14 & 17) because it will be hard to try to cook things after the surgery I think. What about you?

Revision Update - Recovery

by BelleKreyol on 01-16-2017 at 06:51 AM
Jan 13 seems long gone, but I am still feeling the effects of surgery. Like folks have posted before it can be slow for those who have had multiple procedures. I had my lap-band revision to sleeve and gallbladder removed in Cancun with Dr. Verboonen. I stayed at the Victoria Medical Clinic which is a hospital. The service and care was great, the nurses monitored me closely and constantly. I had my blood pressure, temperature, a drain checked on the hour. I received pain meds as well. The first

Lap Band Revision to Gastric Sleeve Mexico (Verboonen)

by BelleKreyol on 12-28-2016 at 09:44 AM
I struggled with my weight for most of my life. I was always the chubby girl. And although I didn't want to acknowledge it, it hurt me to be teased about my weight. In 2008 I had surgery. I decided on the lap-band. At the time, I felt like I didn't want to face the risks associated with the other more permanent surgeries. At my highest, I weighed in at 230 lbs. That was a lot of weight on a small stature of 5'4. I did the 6 month supervised diet, got insurance approval and was banded in
