    How are you?

Oh I keep thinking the same thing about being the 1 person who won't lose weight! I was too impatient and weighed myself after just 3 days and was so upset to see I had gained half a pound! I have to make myself wait until Fridays! Because I don't want to get discouraged from a small fluctuation. I've been mostly having a hard time mentally, dealing with the physical hunger hasn't been too bad after the first few days but being at the store or even just thinking about all the carb-filled things I miss eating is depressing! I wish I would just stop torturing myself LOL. I've mostly been eating broth, sugar free jello and pudding (and the protein drinks) but I can't wait to try some cream soups next week. It has been nice to have my clothes fit a little looser You're doing awesome at 27 lbs I'm excited for you!

I'm still in the hospital being fed through my IV. I'm very ill and I'm a lot of pain. I have another 3 weeks of this before they take the stents out of my stomach, hopefully after that my stomach will be healed. If not, I may have to have a gastric bypass. Thank you for thinking of me. Be careful flying so soon after surgery, you're really not supposed to, it causes blood clots...

We do have a lot in common! I just found out Depeche is going to release a new album!! I hope it'll be good My stitches are really itchy but doing pretty well otherwise. Mostly just cravings!

Thank you for thinking of me, my pain is better, but I still don't feel the best. I have one week left before I have to function...

Thanks doll. It is slow and steady but I feel absolutely great!! I am exercising. Not hungry. Don't miss the junk food. I really thought I'd miss the diet Dr. Pepper but I don't. Whenever I see someone drinking one I laugh to myself remembering how addicted to them I was. I refuse to drink any carbonated drinks that could stretch my pouch. I am glad to see your surgery went well and you are complication free!!
  9. Made a quick update under 'Blog' for those who are interested. More to come in the next few days.

Doing well. Getting my liquids in, vitamins, but not proteins yet. 2 more days till I can use my shakes again, then I'll be good to go.

I am so sorry for the late response. By now you are recovering as well. My surgery went well and no complications thank God! I just had excess stomach cramping, but its because I was very swollen. I rarely get them now. Something weird is I get hic-ups overtime I'm full. Im approaching 2 weeks on 18th and excited to start pureed food in a couple of days.

I really do hope your experience was a good one. I know it gets pretty nerve racking right at last minute, but I know our lives will be better moving on and it will be very worth it.

Yes the bloating can be uncomfortable! Glad you are on your way! Safe travels back home! Oh and when they pull the drain out it's kinda freaky feeling!

So glad everything went well!! Don't weight yourself yet with all that gas lol. Keep walking and it will hopefully go away soon. Thanks for the update. Keep us posted!
  13. My surgery went well. I'm still having a lot of gas bloating, but passed my leak test today. They will be pulling out my drain in the morning before I take the shuttle to the San Diego airport. My friends airport going to kidnap me for a couple hours to hang out at their house in San Diego before I fly back in the afternoon.

I had lost a total of 18 lbs before my surgery and am excited to see what I weigh after week 1 post op. I'm soo bloated I think I'll make myself weigh in at 1 week instead of when I get home.

About TarotAces
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
"Goal Weight" is misleading... I mean, if I go by my BMI I should weigh 130-140 pounds! Currently 297 lbs. and aiming for wherever my body seems happy UNDER 180 lbs. I've spent the last 8 years dealing with massive back issues and now this past year and a half a knee issue as well. Physical issues have made it impossible to enjoy being active anymore, and caused pretty massive depression the past few years. I need help, a jump start if you will. And one that will buy me time to learn my way around my food addiction and emotional eating issues. I'm Really excited to finally be getting this tool to help me, and plan to work the crap out of it so it will work for me!

I've been overweight since I had my oldest (who is now 20 [2016]) and obese for the last 15 years. I went through high school at my comfortable weight of 134 lbs. I don't really need to be that weight again, but I WOULD like to be able to go hiking, camping, kayaking, and fishing again. And I WOULD really like to not have to consider if the chairs at such and such restaurant/cafe I'm invited to will be too small (Starbucks OMG they kill me).

I look forward to NOT having to consider every aspect of my life through the lens of obesity. And I can't wait to be able to wear BOOTS again!!!!

Almost 6 months out, first REAL stall...

by TarotAces on 06-09-2017 at 11:34 AM
I know what I need to do to 'overcome' the stall (make sure I get my fluids in, redouble my efforts to get in enough protein, regular exercise, and patience) but I finally understand how frustrating this FEELS. I've read many peoples' posts about how frustrated they are with their weight stalling out for weeks at a time, I just never FELT their frustration until now.

I have been REALLY lucky and have not really had a stall until now... I had a week here or there where my weight bounced

You may like what is sometimes referred to as one-minute bread. Individual-serving recipes can be found by searching online. Some recipes include the addition of oil and artificial sweetener, but I don't add these two ingredients. For expediency, I mix the dry ingredients in bulk and store them in a canister. To make, I put an egg and spoonful of water into a ramekin and add 3 rounded

Not quite 3 weeks post-op

by TarotAces on 01-30-2017 at 06:38 PM
Just a quick update after 11 post-op days:

I've been doing REALLY well at staying at or below goal on my macro's (90+ protein, <30g carbs) and calories (approx. 600-800 a day) and water intake (at or above 64 oz on liquids)!

I also made a decision a few days after my last post here; I'll be following a friends post-op guidelines instead of what I was given. The info I was given was DEFINITELY really lenient, and questionable as far as 'okay' or not at whichever stage

11 days Post-op; 1st night out/celebration since surgery SOLID FOOD... ish

by TarotAces on 01-22-2017 at 01:57 PM
I am now 11 days post op. My only complications, so far, are that 2 of my incision sites are infected and painful. I need to see a Dr. I think, maybe get stronger antibiotics. I think it's weird that I've followed the post-op instructions and have been taking my antibiotics as directed and STILL got infected. hmm...

Yesterday was Bill's birthday so we went out to our favorite place; The Blackfish (super awesome restaurant IN our favorite casino, with amazing food/chef and great wine
