Wow you have lost 13 lbs you rock! Today's day #2 of no carb (liquid) w/4 oz protein at dinner. It is true what others said, I really do feel like I have the flu! Headache, nausea, achy, ornery, all just from sugar/carb withdrawal ugggh! And it's bad too because usually I'd take Advil for the headache but the preop instructions say no NSAIDs for 2 weeks before sx so I guess I'll just keep drinking water and hope it goes away. How are you doing this week?

Awe thank you! Happy New Year to you as well! This year is going to be great for both of us, but the best is yet to come! Today is my last day at home, we fly out of dallas at 6:15 am and get into San Diego at 7:30. We gain 2 hours while flying. I'm taking my laptop and according to AT&T my phone is supposed to work like normal in Mexico at no extra charge, also the hotel has wifi. I will try to take some pics and videos and send them to you if you'd like. I plan on using them on the forum or possibly on YouTube to help others. Have a great day! Ttyl!

You're welcome! Wow, we leave for Mexico in less than 48 hours! I started my pre-op diet today, which reminds me, I can have a protein shake! I'm going to start my weight ticker today and I took some before photos. I'm doing laundry and packing. I'm ready to start my new life!

Hey sister! We went to Walmart yesterday and picked up some unflavored protein powder, premier shakes, broth, bullion, jello, pop-cycles, and some other things. I put in an amazon order for a heating pad, gas-x strips, and a new digital scale. Today I'm going to break out the luggage I bought 3 months ago in anticipation of the trip, when I get home from work and start packing. Now I just have to get through the next 3 days, my plan is to stay busy and make myself really tired so I can sleep. I will keep you posted and remember if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Just try to relax, everything's is going to be great!

I was tired of being nervous, so I switched to just wanting to get it over with, lol

All of the above, but I think mostly just ready yo get it over with! I'm looking forward to spending a whole 5 days with my sweetie. I know I'm in good hands with the doctors and my Danny to watch over me. So I guess most of all, I'm just ready...
  7. Thanks KaneBabie!

:-) Making myself a priority is still kinda new to me, but this felt like a good way to flip the switch post-holidays.

CONGRATS on your weight loss and your starting the liquid diet early...CHEERING FOR YOU ALL THE WAY
  9. I've lost 5.5 lbs this week just by changing my mindset about the food I was eating; by trying to prepare my brain and habits for post op eating. Yesterday I started my high protein liquid diet and lost 3.5 pounds overnight. I'm going to use that as motivation to keep going over the next 2 weeks of pre-op diet.
It's overwhelming, but I am trying to stay focused on the goal.
  10. Started my high protein liquid pre-op diet today. Don't HAVE to start till Jan 1st but felt a head start is a really good idea.

Awe, thanks for thinking of me! 9 days now, but really more like 8 because today is almost over!

I am very lucky my pre-op is only 3 days. I am glad your's is now only 10 days. 4 weeks would be tough for me. I hope I am not starving to death when I get to Mexico. I tend to eat all day long..
  14. ebbdawsons ---> I TOTALLY miss the feelings I would have physically from a good workout. I REALLY do miss the sore muscle feeling. I look forward to being ABLE to walk more than 50 yards at a time.

Starting from the bottom, there's nowhere to go but up

Thank you! I started back to the gym around week 6 and haven't stopped. Of course started out walking slow on treadmill but you know how it is when you are in the gym, eventually you can't help but doing more. I wish you the best of luck, you can do it!

About TarotAces
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
"Goal Weight" is misleading... I mean, if I go by my BMI I should weigh 130-140 pounds! Currently 297 lbs. and aiming for wherever my body seems happy UNDER 180 lbs. I've spent the last 8 years dealing with massive back issues and now this past year and a half a knee issue as well. Physical issues have made it impossible to enjoy being active anymore, and caused pretty massive depression the past few years. I need help, a jump start if you will. And one that will buy me time to learn my way around my food addiction and emotional eating issues. I'm Really excited to finally be getting this tool to help me, and plan to work the crap out of it so it will work for me!

I've been overweight since I had my oldest (who is now 20 [2016]) and obese for the last 15 years. I went through high school at my comfortable weight of 134 lbs. I don't really need to be that weight again, but I WOULD like to be able to go hiking, camping, kayaking, and fishing again. And I WOULD really like to not have to consider if the chairs at such and such restaurant/cafe I'm invited to will be too small (Starbucks OMG they kill me).

I look forward to NOT having to consider every aspect of my life through the lens of obesity. And I can't wait to be able to wear BOOTS again!!!!

Almost 6 months out, first REAL stall...

by TarotAces on 06-09-2017 at 11:34 AM
I know what I need to do to 'overcome' the stall (make sure I get my fluids in, redouble my efforts to get in enough protein, regular exercise, and patience) but I finally understand how frustrating this FEELS. I've read many peoples' posts about how frustrated they are with their weight stalling out for weeks at a time, I just never FELT their frustration until now.

I have been REALLY lucky and have not really had a stall until now... I had a week here or there where my weight bounced

You may like what is sometimes referred to as one-minute bread. Individual-serving recipes can be found by searching online. Some recipes include the addition of oil and artificial sweetener, but I don't add these two ingredients. For expediency, I mix the dry ingredients in bulk and store them in a canister. To make, I put an egg and spoonful of water into a ramekin and add 3 rounded

Not quite 3 weeks post-op

by TarotAces on 01-30-2017 at 06:38 PM
Just a quick update after 11 post-op days:

I've been doing REALLY well at staying at or below goal on my macro's (90+ protein, <30g carbs) and calories (approx. 600-800 a day) and water intake (at or above 64 oz on liquids)!

I also made a decision a few days after my last post here; I'll be following a friends post-op guidelines instead of what I was given. The info I was given was DEFINITELY really lenient, and questionable as far as 'okay' or not at whichever stage

11 days Post-op; 1st night out/celebration since surgery SOLID FOOD... ish

by TarotAces on 01-22-2017 at 01:57 PM
I am now 11 days post op. My only complications, so far, are that 2 of my incision sites are infected and painful. I need to see a Dr. I think, maybe get stronger antibiotics. I think it's weird that I've followed the post-op instructions and have been taking my antibiotics as directed and STILL got infected. hmm...

Yesterday was Bill's birthday so we went out to our favorite place; The Blackfish (super awesome restaurant IN our favorite casino, with amazing food/chef and great wine
