Thank you! Sorry for delay in response. I had been really tied up catching up with home/kids/school. My surgery went very well. I am approaching 2 weeks on the 18th and feel good.

My first day was rough! Kind of expected it since I've never been a jogger or runner. I wasn't able to finish the program the first day. But I'm going to keep on trying. I was sick for a few days but I'm getting back into it now. Trying to go to gym at least 4-5 days a week now. How are you doing with the program?

Surgery went well, but I caught a terrible cold on the way home, doing better now, thanks for thinking of me

Surgery went well. I was told I was the star patient. I was up and walking 2am.4am damn all the time!! LOL One thing I have a question about is that the first night I had a starving feeling. The hunger feeling seems to be going away.Maybe I have it mixed up with a rumbly tummy,. Other wise day 4 barely any pain

Started Monday buddy. My schedule is funky so I gotta get organized quick. Most of my running will be indoors until spring. Yesterday was Day two...plus I had 90 minutes of soccer in the evening and ran the whole time. 23,000 fitbit steps and a buttload of burned up calories. A hot bath and I felt amazing going to sleep last night=) Lets keep checking in and if you ever get a fitbit, you can link up with me so we can encourage each other through the app.....Alvin

Good ideas, thanks again! I know the planning is going to be extremely important to help stay on track! Yeah I'm going to try some coffee w/splenda and skim milk and see if it's tolerable. I know once you get your body out of the sugar addiction phase, things taste better that you didn't like before. Because when I was first diagnosed w/diabetes I was able to cut out sugar and just use substitute... but then after my A1C got under control I started slipping here and there and before you know it I'm ordering a mocha frap every other day :/

Cool thanks for posting that! I know what you mean and I'm definitely not expecting this to be a magic bullet. Don't we wish LOL! Luckily I had already quit pop when I got DM2 three years ago. BUT I traded it for coffee, which isn't much better considering I put hot chocolate, cream and Splenda in it. So I'm going to stop that because I don't want to drink my calories. Thanks for the advice & enjoy your day!

It's going well! Thanks for asking. I got out of bed a little too quickly last night so I'm sore again and taking it easy today. I'm starting to grow weary of the protein drinks but I'm a little nervous about transitioning because I tried a couple days ago and my stomach was not happy with the change and I was miserable. All in all, I'm happy with the progress I'm making.

16 weeks-People are Talking-Getting my groove back

by Christie13 on 02-23-2017 at 09:50 PM
Conversation with a friend from work who had been out and I hadn't seen in about 2 months...
Her- "People were talking about you..."
Me-"Who's talking shit about me?"
Her-"No they were saying how you were so tiny and shrinking."
Me-"Oh! LOL. I thought I was going to have to fight someone."

So that really happened. I was happy for the compliments, though I have apparently been the talk of my training group (the

Wine Tour-Munch Munch-Fun with friends-

by Christie13 on 02-20-2017 at 08:00 PM
So Saturday we went on the wine tour. It was a lot of fun. We went with 3 other couples. To be honest, I was a bit nervous about drinking some. I had wine. Didn't drink as much as everyone else was drinking but still had a great time. We did bring snacks along as well that we had at one of the stops and also on the bus. Mostly it was meat, cheeses, crackers, hummus, nuts, and chips. I have some crackers and a few chips which I am totally not used to but wanted to ensure I was ok with the

15 weeks-Caramels-Keep on keeping on-Goals

by Christie13 on 02-16-2017 at 10:48 PM
So today I am 15 weeks out! Where has the time gone? I continue to be amazed by my continued weight loss and how great I feel. I still can get that too full feeling when I eat too fast but overall, it has been a great ride. I have lost another pound. I'm 146. Yay! Slowly creeping down to the 130's....I know I will get there. I was hoping to get to the 130's by the 10th when I have a follow up with my surgeon. Fingers crossed! That brings my total weight loss to 61 lbs, 41 of which are

Happy Valentines Day-Love yourself, love your sleeve-Celebrating your sexy-Stop in the name of love

by Christie13 on 02-14-2017 at 10:22 PM
Happy Valentines Day fellow sleevers! In lieu of candy...get out there and have some fun using your new bodies! Enjoy your new sexy! I can tell you I am not missing stuffing my face with a highly caloric dinner and finishing off a ton of chocolates in the name of love. My hubby still wanted to take me to dinner but I told him it made no sense since I can't eat a lot and it would be a waste. So instead we are enjoying some time cuddling and enjoying each others company. I hope you are all

My hips don't lie-14 weeks-New shoes-Another pound down-For the love of running

by Christie13 on 02-12-2017 at 07:57 PM
So I had to walk on my workout today. I have noticed over the last week or so that my hips have been hurting a little when I run. Originally it was just my left hip but now it is both. I was able to still run but would be sore that night and the next day. After my day off from running I would be able to run again and do the same cycle all over again. Today I only ran for about 5 minutes and knew that if I continued I would most probably injure myself. So I just speed walked the rest of my
