Thank you! No I'm not taking any supplements. I've been thinking about calcium and trying flintiness vitamins because I can't take any other (make me sick), but I don't feel weak or anything. I am currently able to drink 1.5 protein shakes and working on getting 2 in. I do drink less liquid than I should, but getting there. As days go by, I'm able to intake more liquid.

I just tried cooking my own version of chicken broth with zuccini, carrot, onion, and cilantro and a boneless skinless chicken breast for flavor. I took carrots and zuccini and onion and blended them with some of the broth....it was heaven....I can't take any of the other broths I used to. I'm sticking to this now.

Thank you! Sorry for delay in response. I had been really tied up catching up with home/kids/school. My surgery went very well. I am approaching 2 weeks on the 18th and feel good.

My first day was rough! Kind of expected it since I've never been a jogger or runner. I wasn't able to finish the program the first day. But I'm going to keep on trying. I was sick for a few days but I'm getting back into it now. Trying to go to gym at least 4-5 days a week now. How are you doing with the program?

Surgery went well. I was told I was the star patient. I was up and walking 2am.4am damn all the time!! LOL One thing I have a question about is that the first night I had a starving feeling. The hunger feeling seems to be going away.Maybe I have it mixed up with a rumbly tummy,. Other wise day 4 barely any pain

Started Monday buddy. My schedule is funky so I gotta get organized quick. Most of my running will be indoors until spring. Yesterday was Day two...plus I had 90 minutes of soccer in the evening and ran the whole time. 23,000 fitbit steps and a buttload of burned up calories. A hot bath and I felt amazing going to sleep last night=) Lets keep checking in and if you ever get a fitbit, you can link up with me so we can encourage each other through the app.....Alvin

Good ideas, thanks again! I know the planning is going to be extremely important to help stay on track! Yeah I'm going to try some coffee w/splenda and skim milk and see if it's tolerable. I know once you get your body out of the sugar addiction phase, things taste better that you didn't like before. Because when I was first diagnosed w/diabetes I was able to cut out sugar and just use substitute... but then after my A1C got under control I started slipping here and there and before you know it I'm ordering a mocha frap every other day :/

Cool thanks for posting that! I know what you mean and I'm definitely not expecting this to be a magic bullet. Don't we wish LOL! Luckily I had already quit pop when I got DM2 three years ago. BUT I traded it for coffee, which isn't much better considering I put hot chocolate, cream and Splenda in it. So I'm going to stop that because I don't want to drink my calories. Thanks for the advice & enjoy your day!

Woohoo! Italy baby!

by Christie13 on Yesterday at 05:34 PM
So today we booked our tickets to go to Italy in July for 16 days. My dad is getting remarried (my mother passed away 2 years ago) and we found a good deal on tickets. It's going to be me, my hubby, my 2 kids, and my mother in law. (My step kids are not going...no way their mom would let them.) So very excited. We had to go get passports today for the hubby and I. My husband hasn't had one in 20+ years and mine was going to expire in August and still had my old last name on there. (We got

Instructions from my surgeon

by Christie13 on 01-15-2017 at 10:42 PM
So I have posted some pictures of stuff that was given to me from my surgeon. I have had 2 people request I email them a copy of it. So tonight I scanned them into the computer (with the exception of the pre op diet). Anyone who would like a copy, just PM me your email and I would be more than happy to share.

Sunday sweet Sunday!!

by Christie13 on 01-15-2017 at 01:32 PM
Today I woke up to a light rain but it is also my running day. It wasn't cold. So I threw my running clothes on and got ready for my run. Didn't even need my running jacket. A little rain during a run has never bothered me. I actually kind of like it because it keeps you cool. The only thing that bugs me is water getting kicked up on my calves so I wore long running pants versus the capri length that I prefer.
It is week 3 of my C25K running program. Obviously it is getting progressively

Another one bites the dust!

by Christie13 on 01-14-2017 at 10:53 PM
So week 2 of C25K is done and tomorrow I start week 3. And I have lost another pound. That brings my post op weight loss to 32 lbs (in 10 weeks) and overall weight loss to 52. I am so good with my results. They are right for me and my journey. Don't stress that it is lower than some people because I am losing and I feel successful. I absolutely love this site. Maybe a little too much. LOL.
I really like all the good information. I like the comradery that comes with being in this

Inching Away and C25k week 2 day 2

by Christie13 on 01-10-2017 at 10:32 PM
Slowly but surely my scale is still moving in the right direction and the inches are coming off my body as well. I feel really great. I did my C25K week 2 day 2. I was breathing well and felt like I was running at a really good pace. I run outside so honestly I don't know how fast I am going. It feels fast. I could be running at a snails pace. Who knows? All I know is it feels good and my body is definitely responding to it positively. My dog is also enjoying the program. We get home and
