    Hello Again,
I was thinking about you today and wondering how things were going in your world. The weight loss has really slowed down for me too - an lb a week if it's a good week. ... have lost nothing in the last seven days but have noticed a change (for the better) in the way my clothes are fitting during these same seven days. Like you, I no longer sweat the stalls. In fact, I don't even consider myself stalled anymore. I still weigh myself daily, which maybe isn't a good idea now that the wl has slowed down. Ah well ... deal with one challenge at a time, eh?

I am heading out on my first trip away from home since the sleeve surgery. I am visiting my kids (on the west coast and also way up north in the Yukon) and will see my 18 month old grandchild too. I am excited about going but also a bit unsure about the whole eating thing since I haven't dealt with traveling and being in other peoples environment at mealtime yet. I am an artist and have my studio here on the property (also do some online copywriting) so am able to work from home. This mean I have had almost total control over what's in my fridge and pantry for the past five months ... well except for the snacks my husband brings home occasionally. I am usually content with a bite or two of his treats when tempted. I think I will be oaky while I am away but ... we'll see what the scale says when I get back home. I trust my sleeve to behave ... just not 100% sure about my head. lol

    Janet
  3. Keep up the good work, it will pay off.

Yes portions are now much smaller than pre-surgery. I felt no hunger for the first months but feel it now. It just doesn't seem to be as acute as it was before surgery ... easier to resist now. I know that some sleevers never feel hunger again but I am definitely not in that group. I am grateful for this though. I am a foodie and really enjoy the food I eat. In fact, I would be sad to lose the meal anticipation that is linked to feeling hungry and ready for a meal. Some here suggest that food should now be viewed as just a necessity to fuel the body but I just can't get behind that approach for myself. I enjoy the challenge of planning my meals, modifying recipes and then the time spent in actually preparing the meal itself. That said, I can see that grazing could become a problem for me. It isn't so far but ... I have to use fitnesspal to keep myself in line! I have done no exercise at all so now that spring is finally arriving I know it's time get out there and walk. I don't really see myself at a gym though. I figure by adding a daily walk that I may be able to keep the weightloss happening ... hope so! I too am eating between 800 - 1000 calories each day. I am so happy to be having some success with weightloss .... finally!

3 years out - slid a bit but not going give up.

by aglb on 01-11-2017 at 06:28 PM
I have added to a few others posts, but not started a post here for awhile - 3years out as of November. Lost about 96 pounds between the pre & post 6 months after surgery - bam - weight loss came to a abrupt halt at 6 months. Wasn't complaining - was thrilled with where I was. A cruise here, a celebration there - 18 pounds slid back on over the last 1 1/2 years. I admit I slid with the protein, grabbed quick easy granola bars & other things that are NOT considered taboo but really do

1 year today - and it has flown by

by aglb on 11-04-2014 at 08:12 AM
I now understand why alcoholics celebrate their sobriety birthdays because today is my 1 year surgery anniversary and I want to celebrate. Best decision I have ever, ever made was to do this surgery. I have zero regrets. My starting weight was not as high as many but I am down 70 pounds from surgery, 93 pounds from my highest weight. I haven't lost any additional weight in 2-3 months but I haven't been exercising either. I eat frequently - every 2-3 hours. About 4 -8 ounces depending on whether

Alcohol...that will do it!

by aglb on 09-13-2014 at 11:01 AM
I am 10 months post and though slow losing, am about 7 pounds from my personal goal weight (yeah!) - I went on a cruise at month 3 and was able to eat within my guidelines and continued to lose. During this post op period I have never gained at all even when there was no loss for weeks on end. Well that changed. I went to an all inclusive Mexico resort with 2 girlfriends last week for just 4 days. I am not typically a drinker but the drinks were free & it was hot - still I didn't drink anywhere

Ooops!! Ate too late - won't do that again!

by aglb on 08-26-2014 at 09:06 AM

10 months out & just did a blog yesterday about all being "sunny" Haven't had any issues, complications etc. all along - last night I ate dinner really early, didn't do a snack or anything during the evening & was really hungry & ate a 1/4 of a protein bar 20 min before bedtime - Woke up 2 1/2 hours later with I think (never experienced it) but acid reflux?? - burning in my throat & mouth - ick!! Couldn't stop coughing & wondered if I had thrown

10 months out - here's whats happening!

by aglb on 08-24-2014 at 02:58 PM
10 months out - surgery November 4, 13. First I have lost just a 6 pounds shy of 100 pounds since the beginning of this journey when I first went to the dietitian 2 + years ago - I am down 70 pounds from surgery 10 months ago. I feel awesome. I love how I look and can wear about anything I want. I was wearing a tight 16/18 at the beginning of this journey and am now comfortably in an 8 and just ordered some size 6 jeans & shorts. Best decision I ever, ever made for myself. ever. If you
