Times just flies by, doesn't it? Exactly 5 months ago today I was wandering up and down the halls of a hospital in Mexico, IV stand in tow, bothering our orderlies and nurses, hair matted and askew, lookin like a hot mess. It's been a fascinating, eventful, and incredibly rewarding journey to today.
The most exciting updates?? Well, I've had two people at work literally not recognize me. The first time happened when I walked up to a co-worker to ask her to sign a birthday card for

I'm really not the kind of person that needs a lot of encouragement and pats on the back. But having started my weight loss surgery on May 23rd, and having lost *almost* 50 pounds since then (and 8 pants sizes and over 30 inches, but who's counting...), nobody other than my family and close friends noticed or said anything to me. It's amazing to me that just over a month ago, I was in Mexico having an organ removed.... I must say, I never imagined that recovery from major surgery would go so smoothly and easily. I may have said this before, but there's marked improvement each day, in some sort of way. Either I notice more energy, or my incisions are getting better, mobility increases, etc etc. Last night I discovered I can *almost* sleep on my stomach. I was leaning over my bed to reach for my phone cord and it didn't hurt

Well now, it's been a fascinating couple of weeks since surgery. I must say that every day is better than the day before. The down and dirty stats are.... down 19 lbs and 8 inches. Total. I think I've only lost 11 since surgery. I know that my body really doesn't like losing weight at all, so while it's not a huge number, I will accept it and be happy.
I went back to work this past week, I wasn't sure if it would be a good idea, but I think it helped a lot. First of all, it got me
