Thank you for your comment on my blog. I have tried chiropractic and massage therapy. Addictive personalities run in the family, so I have been trying to avoid drug therapy. Because of my chest size, all of my bras are purchased at specialty shops. The one I am currently wearing is the one they had in stock closest to my size without an under wire. Being so short, any form of under wire ends up jabbing me in the armpit. In addition, I do the sports bra at night, as well.

Hello. I'm scheduled for surgery in 10 days! Excited, nervous....you name it. Emotions are all amuck. Pushing through my 2week pre-op liquid fast. It's a huge challenge with a family of six, 4 kids. Just this a.m. I made buttermilk pancakes from scratch & didn't even taste them. Tough!!!! I haven't had this much willpower in years, but I know a happier, healthier me awaits at the end of the long road ahead. It's worth it not to cheat!! I'm also going with Dr. Brad Watkins. Worried about not ever drinking beer socially, pop occasionally, or sticky rice with Chinese meals! Lol, I know that's petty compared to a healthier me, but I must say, I am bothered by it. Best of luck to you all!!!!! Happy surgery & fast recoveries....with lifelong healthy emotional gains, plus physical losses of poundage!
  4. Thank you for the CPAP info - I am about 55lbs down - with at least 150 to go. But I will definitely look at making that appointment in the next few months.

  7. Thanks Truebody for the definition of "carking it". It is such a descriptive word. I am going to ask my youngest daughter who spent a semester in England if she has ever heard her friends using it. I live in West Chester, OH just outside of Cincinnati. My surgeon, if ever I get this surgery scheduled, will be Dr. Watkins. My surgery will be at the West Chester Hospital. I didn't want to go to my own hospital - privacy issues you know. To Onery - my daughter lives in Springboro. Where is your surgery going to be? I am patiently waiting, gaining and losing the same 5 lbs from day to day.

Who's your surgeon? I'm having my surgery in Cincinatti with Dr. Curry?

"Carking it" = dying. "He carked it".... means he died - at a push it can also mean debilitated and unable to perform, arrive, do etc.
You can use it with people, cars, pets, a variety of electrical equipment - so if a car breaksdown you could say - damn car carked it.
Good luck using it and I hope nobody in your family carks it anytime soon.

Ladies and Gents, I would like to announce.......

by KebfromCincy on 03-17-2014 at 12:36 AM
Hello everybody - I am now almost 8 months post-op and I have lost 110lbs!!!! I wasn't going to let myself get excited until I was under 200. But as usual, my body goes up and down based upon who knows what. I have tasted Onederland but can't seem to stay there quite yet. Why?

These last 6 weeks have been really tough. My husband bought me my favorite ice cream ( United Dairy Farmers - Chocolate Chip ) and at first I was really mad at him for bringing it into the house. But he knows

Onderland!!!!

by KebfromCincy on 03-12-2014 at 12:58 AM
OK, out of the blue, I went from 203 to 199.9. After an almost 2 month stall I was not believing it. Still don't. I am going to have to weigh myself again and again before I believe it. I haven't weighed this little since before 1980 when I started having my kids. Things are pretty stressful right now. A good friend is dying of cancer. She just entered hospice. My baby Granddaughter has RSV and I can't help her parents out babysitting because of my asthma. If I get RSV in the nutritional state I

Seven and 1/2 months down the road

by KebfromCincy on 03-10-2014 at 12:16 AM
So, here I am 7 1/2 months out. I have survived some extremely stressful family and legal troubles and the horrible weather that is Ohio in the Winter. I am just emerging from a 2 month stall. I am OK. Looking forward to better weather and getting out more. Just had the yearly physical that my insurance company ( who paid every penny of my gastric sleeve surgery - bless their hearts ) requires. My Primary Care Physician is thrilled with my progress. I had dropped my cholesterol medication so that

Dang it Christie Brinkley!!!

by KebfromCincy on 01-31-2014 at 12:56 AM
Just when I was feeling pretty good about this whole weight loss thing.... People Magazine puts 60 year old Christie Brinkley on the cover. She looks almost the same as she did when she was on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 1979. So what do I do? Took my 207lb self to Macy's to try on dresses for the various weddings and travels this Spring and Summer. I have never looked like Christie Brinkley, but as I looked at my legs and thighes in 3 way mirror I KNOW that I never will. On top of everything

Almost 5 months down - A lifetime to go

by KebfromCincy on 12-13-2013 at 02:08 AM
My surgery was on July 22nd. I had a rough start due to a huge hiatal hernia and some problems with my Uncle. But here I am at almost 5 months out and I have lost 90lbs. I have not quite lost a whole person, but I am heading there. I have broken up with my cardiologist. He said that unless I have problems, I don't have to see him for another ECHO for 5 years! There are 3 medications I no longer take. My blood sugar, which had been creeping up to pre-diabetic range, is below 90. My blood pressure,
