Hello my Sister... if you are still checking your email on this site.. give me a shout. How are you? I am doing well. My weight loss slowed down almost to a stall, but it just started again. I have about 30 more to go... mind over matter! Tell me, tell me.... I want to know how you are doing.

    Thanks for the welcome! :-)
  4. I bet that you are losing weight everywhere, not just from the head down. It is hard to see it when we have looked at ourselves with " fat" eyes for so long. I am only now recognising that I am actually smaller when I see myself in the mirror, but when I go to buy clothes, I inevitably pick out things that are way to big for me! Crazy! See, I still think with a "fat" brain!!!

I love the Leopard print dress, too! I get so many compliments on it. I love how much less smaller clothes cost. I find so many things on sale, now. The quality of fabric and construction is so much better, too.

We have a lot in common, Fran! I was raised Catholic, and I have Jewish great-grandfathers! I grew up in a wonderful loving neighborhood where the majority of families were Jewish. So, I had lots of Jewish mothers!
My Yiddish is pretty good, too.

When I was in high school, I worked for the local newspaper. Often, on the way to work, I would stop at the local deli for something to eat. I' d be sitting there, eating my bagel and lox, and old Jewish men would talk to me. "What is your name, dear?" A sweet old man would ask me. "Patty Wise." "Wise, eh?" Then the old man would tell me that I was a very beautiful (Jewish) girl. I always thought that was funny.

  6. Well look at you, skinny girl! I see your collar bones and your eyes are gorgeous. It's so nice to see "less " of you, Fran!
Thanks for the compliment on my dress. Clothes are so much cheaper in smaller sizes! How about my hair? It's a wig! Hee-hee! That's why I am laughing in my new photo!

    Keep in touch!

    Hello Fran,

I am still on the planet. Sorry that I have been so slow to respond to your letter. The few weeks before Christmas break ( Dec. 17- Jan.2)
Are insanely busy at my school. Even with my new found energy, I was exhausted by time I got home in the evenings. Some days I was putting in eleven hours at work.

The ice skating trip with my students was great fun, except one of my sweetest boys broke his ankle. Oh! That was terrible! It was a very nasty break. Thankfully, his parents took it in stride. I stayed at the hospital with him until his dad came. He had to have surgery, screws and a metal plate installed. Oh, I feel so bad about this! He is home now and his father says that he is enjoying being king. He sits and the rest of the family waits on him. This is so funny to me because it is so not like Jerry to be "king!"

The rest of the students (most had never been on ice before) did very well and had a great time. It was a very warm day outside. The ice rink is indoors and wow it was cccccoooollllldddd in there! They were amdazed by that. It was fun watching them learn how to ice skate. When poor Jerry had his accident,my teens were so good. Without being told, they cleared the ice and quietly sat on benches until the ambulance left with Jerry. They want to go again and I will take them.

I used to live in Orlando! I think that you visited at a good time of year weather - I love the flowers at Disney. Coming from a freezing climate, I am sure that you enjoyed our sunshine! My husband would spend every weekend at Disney if he could afford it. Me? I like it okay. Once every few years is enough for me. I like "real " places much better. The mountains, the ocean... I would love to go to your favorite pub. That sort of thing.

Orlando has grown since I was a girl. Before Disney, it was just a small villiage surrounded by tremendous acres of orange trees. Very rural people... nothing like it is today!

So, are you house hunting? That is exciting and scary at the same time! I bought a house four years ago. It is so nice to not have to give my money to a landlord for rent. Such a good feeling to know my home is mine. I hope things work out for you.

I have lost 73 pounds as of this morning! My secret goal is 75 by Christmas. It looks like I will make it. This is so amazing to me! I went to a Christmas party that a friend of mine hosts every year for her girlfriends. It is fun for all of we friends to get together and let our hair down and have silly fun. The party was the evening of the same day that the boy broke his ankle. I was tired and did not want to go. My friends begged me to come and I gave in.

NSV & other ramblings

by Fran71 on 08-13-2013 at 02:18 AM
Ok so this is a teeny NSV but many of you will get it. As I put weight on my rings moved from finger to finger as I got fatter - you know cos they didn't fit any more. Well my fave ring is back on its rightful finger 😀👍. I've still a long way to go but I'm getting there.

I'm sure I have some weird body dysmorphia or something cos I really can't see any change when I look in the mirror. I still see HUGE! But hey I'm working on that.

I've got an Exercise

Slow but steady. It's ok to loose slowly, & my first NSV

by Fran71 on 06-29-2013 at 03:13 PM
Ok so, compared to many my progress is slow (& to quote my surgeon, moderately disappointing). Disappointing to him maybe, but not me. I have travelled the weightless journey before & it was slow then too.

I've slowly started "telling" people. I've had some negativity, but I'm a bit of an arsey bitch & although people might not agree with surgery, they say bugger all to my face. I don't have to justify my decision to anyone & I'm happy to tell people their

Surgery is not the easy option

by Fran71 on 05-22-2013 at 11:16 AM
Ok so I'm about 7 months out. I am a slow loser. Averaging about 1.5lb per week.

Some of you may think this is pointless but personally I'm thrilled with it. I've given up or stalled on so many other diets at the 10-14 lb point. & this time there is no giving up.

My surgeon would like me to lose quicker (to bring his stats up) but my nurse has told me that my weightloss is sustainable long term. She has explained to me that there is the chance that some people

Happy, but I will never "be happy"

by Fran71 on 03-17-2013 at 05:55 AM
Ok , so my weight loss is slow but steady, yes I'm frustrated but, I'm happy.

So far it's cost me £6k per stone (a stone is 14lbs /6kg) but that's ok.

I have previously lost lots of weight, my heaviest was about 25st / 350lbs / 155kg uk sz 28/30. US sz 26/28. My lightest was 12st / 165lbs / 76kg. UK sz14 USsz10 I am currently somewhere in the middle after my sleeve surgery.

although having been in the US at my smallest I was buying anything from a sz

Slow but noticeable progress (I don't "feel" any different)

by Fran71 on 02-23-2013 at 01:44 PM
Hi all,

So to start with, did any of you think you would feel different after surgery? I feel just the same, I know my stomach is smaller, but I thought it would feel different, I feel the same. Maybe I'm just a bit of a div?? What does a thin person feel like?

Well considering I don't "do" drama in my life I'm not avoiding it very well. 2 weeks ago I was In a car crash , no injuries to me, but my car was bashed up a bit (my poor baby) the insurance approved
