I'm going to make a downpayment later this week, early next week with Dr. Almanza in Mexico. You know, it's kind of a wierd coincidence that I'm going to Mexico for my surgery when my boyfriend of 2 years now is half Mexican! I asked him earlier today if he wanted to go with me and it -sounds- like he might, but in all honesty, I'm worried about us having to save up at least another $500. I know I'll be fine on my own for the 4, 5 days I'll be gone. I just hope -he- will be alright!

It was so nice of your friend to make the soup for you! I'll probably end up buying a few different brands of broth to see what tastes best. That and Popsicles. They are so cheap! You can buy like 100 of them for $5 at Walmart. We're probably supposed to stick with the sugar free kind, huh?

I was watching a 5 min video earlier that showed the gastric sleeve surgery. It looks easy enough! I can definitely see why we take a while to heal up. I was talking to a very good friend of mine who lives in FL and asked her if she'd be okay with just sending a small amount of money for Christmas and my birthday instead of trying to find a gift. She liked the idea, because she knows I've been struggling with my weight for half of my life so far.

I'm so glad you're able to work out at the gym!! I get offers from friends to join a gym with them, but with saving up for moving to a different state and for my surgery, anything else is just too much for me right now. I only make $200-$300 unfortunately.

I'm not exactly looking forward to the soft food part of the post op, but you just gotta do what you gotta do. I'm really looking forward to setting a date for my surgery next year!

I know everything will go fantastically. And as one Penshurst West girl to another. I only went there for three weeks in 1969 but I ma sure that still counts. I lived at Peakhurst and Mortdale and all over Sydney as well.

I still haven't had any problems and don't expect to have any now that is has been nearly 3 months. Exercise is the hardest thing to fit in with everything else but each day is a new day and I still am thinking about joining the gym.
Let me know how things are going and it will all be over before you know it.

Hi Julie... can't believe you went to school around the corner from where I live. I actually dropped into Beverly Hills North Public this evening. We have a rather illiterate postman and this time I got some of their school photos delivered to my letterbox. Only four streets away! Poor postal workers...haha.

I grew up in this area- and went to Penshurst West Public. Since then, I've moved all over NSW, then from one end of Sydney to the other, before oddly coming full circle and back to my area of childhood. Funny that, isn't it?

How are you finding things post-op? Mine's next week... yikes!
