Hi Mary- Haven't heard from you in awhile- how are you doing? I am feeling good on my weight loss, although I do tend to stay at a weight for longer than I want on numerous days. I am eating mostly protein and once in a while adding something like cooked carrots. I haven't tried bread or pasta yet- have you? I hope you are doing well...Kathy

I'm making a group for us! Ahhhh, not sure if I'm doing it right!

I think that is a great idea (to make a group)...these individual messages do get time consuming even though I feel like connections are being made, and on THIS journey, I know I'm going to need a lot of support. I'm not sure how to do a group and make it "closed"; do you? I am feeling pretty tired like you wrote. That, and no energy, not to mention feeling light headed on occasion. I am down approx. 9 pounds since the surgery date but I came home up 14 pounds from the 21 that I lost for surgery.

Hi new friend- I know we are supposed to discuss weight loss issues on this site, but I have a heavy day ahead of me and want you to know about it. You may have recently heard about a father in River Falls, WI who murdered his three daughters (ages 5, 8, and 11). Well, they used to live in my neighborhood and I was acquainted with the mother, Jessica. When we were both stay at moms, we’d get our kids together for park visits, etc. Today is the memorial service for these three innocent children. My heart is so sad for them and for Jessica. If you are a praying kinda person, please lift up the Schaffhausen family today, and I’d appreciate a few of those prayers thrown my way as well.

Glad you've had a nice trip in mx. My ex husband lives in Dawsonville. He is pretty non-functional, but his wife, Karen King is very nice and she works at Walmart. I hope u r healed enough for work on Thurs. I love nurses!

Hi Mary, how r u doing? Today I'm feeling kind of emotional today, not sure why. Is your town anywhere near Dawsonville? When do plan on going back to work?

What is your actual name? I'm Kathy and I just got home today (Fri) from the hospital from sleeve surgery on Wed. Feeling pretty good, bit more of a sore stomach today after they took me off the morphine pump. With that I felt no pain. Am burpy gassy but nothing yet down yonder. They say it's coming but I'm beginning to have my doubts. How are you feeling?

Happy Birthday To Me!

by Indiangivr on 09-24-2012 at 10:41 AM
This time last year, I didn't think I would have another birthday. I had only been a widow for 6 months when I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. I had 2 operations and 33 radiation treatments. God had put a very good man in my life, and he was with me throughout my treatment. We got married in the hospital chapel after one of my treatments. Not very romantic, but it was awesome!

I had my sleeve surgery in July because I knew I was having my first 'official'

Cervical (neck) surgery after my sleeve.

by Indiangivr on 08-22-2012 at 09:29 PM
Hey ya'll! I haven't been on here in a week or so and I have missed my support group. I had surgery on my neck last week - a discectomy and fusion of C5-6 and 6-7. I'm homebound for two weeks, but finally up and about enough that I am getting bored already and I have five more weeks off work. The first thing I did when I got out of the hospital was step on the scale. I knew I had gotten a lot of IV fluids, and I had a huge amount of swelling in my neck. I should have waited a few days!! I had gained

One more challenge

by Indiangivr on 08-13-2012 at 09:01 PM
A couple of months ago I had to decide whether I was going to get my sleeve surgery first, or surgery on my neck. After a lot of thought, I decided it would be better to lose some weight first. I breezed through the sleeve surgery and was back to work in a week. It has been easy changing my lifestyle, and I only think about food when it's time to eat. I have not had one second of regret (except one night when I was constipated - but that's another story!). Now it's time for the 'big one.'

I feel seriously yucky!! Can I get some sympathy?

They did not tell any of us (the patients that were waiting) what was going on until it was too late to leave - i.e. I had an IV in my arm. Long story short, they

Balding

You can have a different color/length every day. If your hair is dirty, just get another one out of the closet. I can drop it off at the salon and go back and pick it up later. I don't have to worry about my hair falling out because I am losing weight. And most importantly, I won't ever get head lice!! There
