Make room on the loser's bench folks! Just a short update as i'm on my phone, will try to post more later. Thanks to all that wished me well. It was a tough afternoon/evening with nausea and gas pain. Oddly the gas pain is right at the breastbone, not in the shoulders. Gave me a bit of panic!

I had all my pre-op stuff yesterday, met "A New Beginning" in the pre-op class at Dr Winterstein's office, and went to my first support group meeting. Everyone cheered for me when I introduced myself & told them when my surgery was. Now I just need to get housework caught up, get my bag packed, work Monday morning (!!) until about ten, and get to the hospital. I am SO EXCITED. People keep asking if I'm nervous yet, and the only thing I'm nervous about is my work while I'm gone

I don't have the letter yet, but I called today & it was sent out 11/22. I should get it this week sometime!!! I am SO EXCITED - it's real now! I'm hoping to schedule surgery 1/17 as I want to get through the holidays before starting the diet at this point. I'm debating the 9th though, and start my diet the day after Xmas. My doctor has you do low-carb rather than liquids so I think I could handle New Year's.

Hello,
I just had my first appointment of my 6 month's required physician-supervised "dieting" yesterday, so I'm a ways out, but I'm sure I want to do the sleeve. 95% of the time, anyway. It does worry me that so many people seem to be reporting hunger (even intense hunger??) very soon after surgery. Do you think that this is emotional hunger and/or panic at what you've just done, or is it truly physical hunger? I thought the major point of this was vastly reducing hunger?
