  1. Your note means so much to me! I feel so much better now after reading your notes. I guess my rate of weight loss isn't so bad after all. In fact, mine compare a lot to yours. Had the same experience with gaining a couple pounds at one point. Weight loss now is slower but steady. I try to only weigh myself every couple days. I'm like you, if I can just continue to lose around 10 pounds a month I'm happy with that.

I've been trying to experiment with introducing different foods into my diet. It's going pretty well. Still doing protein shakes in the morning. Staying completely away from chocolate...that's a big deal for me. I did slime a couple times. I guess just because I wanted to test the restriction/boundaries to see just how much I can handle. I really want to be very careful about not stretching my stomach. Slowly but surely gaining my strength and stamina back. Started walking a little with a friend of mine and that is going well. I anticipate increasing my exercise level more and more as the weather warms up.

I have trouble getting all my water in sometimes, too. I find drinking the vitamin water helps a little.

Sorry for taking so long in replying. Hope to hear from you again.

Good to hear from you! I'm pleased so far with my weight loss. Total in the first month was 13.9 lbs. No record setting, but I would take that each month! I did have a "stall" for about 1 week where I actually gained two pounds! It was awful and I contacted Dr. Miranda who assured me I had restriction and the weight loss would continue. Thankfully, it has. Total weight loss including pre-op diet has been 28 lbs. My pants are loose and that has not happened in YEARS!

How are YOU doing? Are you feeling well? I'd have to think your band and revision surgery might be making the weight loss slower. I'm finally feeling more normal, less tired. I'm ready to start exercising to see if that helps keep the weight loss goign. Are you having success sticking to the post-op protein and water guidelines? Most days I do well, but occassionally I am a few ounces short on the water.

    Great to hear from you!

Also I notice you're in Denver. I'm in Fort Collins! I'd love to meet up with you before or after the surgery!! Take care and keep us posted as to how you're doing!

How are you doing? Getting used to eating without the band? I had only one vomiting episode but I think it was the food itself that made me sick. Too fatty. I noticed that one big ada=vantage its that, and this is what messed me up with the band, I can't drink and eat. There isn't enough room and this is how I used to cheat. Now, I can't do that anymore, thank God!!!

Are you having surgery today? A conversion? You will be happy! Try to talk them out of the gastro nasal tube. My nose still hurts and I think I have a small infection from it in my nose. Let us know how it went!

Best of luck on your surgery! I'm sure you will like Dr Ortiz and the staff at OCC. I received better care there than I would in the hospital at home. Get lots of rest while you are there - some of the other patients went shopping like crazy and then regretted it later by trying to do too much. I'm 15 weeks out and doing well - down 55lbs. My only bother is some acid reflux at night (which is common and supposed to go away). Let me know how you are doing after surgery!

Hi. I have heard of Dr. Snyder because I have an ex-coworker and his wife that went to him. I'm going with Dr. Brown because he is closer to me than Dr. Snyder is.

You are welcome Shelley! My docotor has not had a problem treating me after surgery. 10 days post surgery, he gave me physical exam and took my post op instructions to read. Then I went back a few days later to have my stitches removed. Last week (appt was to be at 8 weeks-but I had to cancel and reshedule) he drew blood to run tests and check for deficiencies. He also checked vitals, surgery sites, etc. I go beck in 6 months if my test are okay. His name is Dr. Chris Carlson at New West Physicans, at Tennyson & Lowell in North Denver.

I completely understand how you feel and was glad my doc was okay with treating me. The thought of having issues and going it alone is not very comforting. If you would like to make an appt. with my doctor please just tell him Rebecca Peterson referred you.

Keep me posted on your surgery and recovery...let me know all is well!

About Band2Sleeve
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
I had lapband surgery in October of 2008. I lost 97 pounds and have gained back 35. It was determined earlier this year that my band slipped or as some prefer to say - my stomach dilated above the band. Complete unfill did not correct this so I'm having the band removed and replaced with gastric sleeve.

Revision from Band to Sleeve...almost

by Band2Sleeve on 11-03-2012 at 10:55 AM
Sorry it took so long to followup with everyone here. First, thanks so much for all the well wishes. It really helps knowing you're all here with similar experiences and positive encouragement.

My revision surgery was last Monday, Oct 29. Doctors weren't able to do the entire revision. Turns out, the band slipped much worse than Doctors here in U.S. led me to believe. I saw it for myself when they did the fluoroscopy. The band was halfway down my stomach. Doctors said my

List of Upcoming Surgeries on this site

by Band2Sleeve on 10-27-2012 at 03:02 PM
Just looked at the list featured here on this site that shows who is having surgery this next week. Thought maybe I could connect with others having surgery the same time I am and with the same doctor. No such luck. I find it curious that Dr. Ortiz isn't mentioned more often on this site and on the web in general. Makes me wonder if they have some way to control the info that gets out there about the doctors. From what I understand, at this point in his career, Dr. Ortiz has done over 14,000
