    part 2 of answer:

    other notes:
eat 3-4 small meals a day (about a half a cup each) otherwise if you eat too much - you may feel nauseated or throw up.

Eat slowly - and chew chew chew!

Stop eating the moment you feel full. If you take one more bite or two - you will feel HORRIBLE!

Don't eat between meals - replace this craving with water

Eat only high protein, fresh foods and veggies. Eat your protein first!

Drink 64 oz of water a day minimum

Don't drink and eat at the same time

    Don't forget to exercise.

After 2 weeks of this - you will move to soft foods. Contact me for those menu options then... OK? I hope this helps you out! If you have any questions - please let me know!

OK - so you are two weeks out post op. These are the directions I have from my doc:

Full liquids for 1-2 weeks (until post op visit - I had mine at 1 week.)
Full liquids are considered that nothing remains on a fork when lifting out of a container or dish.

After that - I moved into pureed. This is where you should be. We remain here for 2 weeks. A pureed diet involves blending EVERYTHING! You can have regular table food but it must be in the consistency that you can draw it through a straw (but don't use a straw - it leads to gas pain!)

You need to take in 80 grams of protein a day. You will need to use a supplement to do this. Usual calorie intake is 400-600 calories a day. You can use ground meats but use broths, gravy or soup to obtain consistency. Eggs may be blended with skim milk and fruits and veggies can be pureed. smoothies can be made by blending fruit with non-fat plain yogurt and skim milk. frozen dinners can be blended with broths.

Good recipes can be found in "eating well after weight loss surgery" by Patt Levine and Michele Bontempo-Saray.
